I used one mainly on HR (thru someone's formula) but decided to try out this formula, (SLG-AVG)*325 (had this similar formula for MVP 05 if I can remember correctly) and I've found it to be quite similar but can be lower or higher depends on the doubles and triples or should i say Total Base to be exact the players had. It looks quite decent.

Power attributes
Just wondering with us roster makers' thought. What is your take on the Power Attributes, using mainly HR or SLG?

Re: Power attributes
I'll have to take a pass on using Slugging since it takes into account singles in it's calculation. Using AB/HR's seems about perfect to me.T-BONE.

Re: Power attributes
extra base hits (XBH) is ok with some sort of modifier. I use combination of stats and never just one. I weight HR's, 2B's, ISO, XBH and then have it create a rating. Im not worried about really "doubling" up I just find stats from fangraphs that should go into a stat and use them as a combo....just my 2 cents It use to work well for me when I made ratings calculatorsComment

Re: Power attributes
Personally, I think Power ratings should be weighted averages of ISO and HR/FB%. According to The Show's description of attributes, power is supposed to affect extra bases hits and how hard the ball is hit in general. ISO should be the main factor then, as it properly weights XBH. The reason I add HR/FB% is that some players hit a ton of doubles and not many home runs, so their power attribute would be inflated and they'd hit more home runs in the game that they should. Hence, I add the HR/FB factor to account for that. That's show I do it for roster creation, but I'd love to hear some other rationales.Comment
