Re: Early 60s Playoff Ready roster uploaded.

Thanks for the kind words Sm27.

I've actually started on the Late '60s set and will put up an interim roster soon.

Are you on the PS4 with MLB 15 ?

I've recently put up the completed version of this Early '60s Set just the other day. More info on it can be found in this thread:

    http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-uploaded.html

I can put up the '68 Tigers after I finish the '69 Orioles I am currently working on if you would like to play those '68 Tigers as part of this Early '60s Roster Set base along with those '69 Orioles being in it as well. I was going to wait until I had a 10 Team Playoff Ready Roster for the Late '60s Set before posting anything but if you think you would enjoy getting a jump start with those '68 Tigers & Mr. McLain & Lolich please just let me know.

It is easy for me to nail those '60s teams as I was already in the Marine Corps in '68 and had followed Baseball as a very active fan from as early of an age as I can remember.

Thanks again and I hope you continue to enjoy these. Please let me know of even the smallest detail which you feel I may have overlooked. I constantly enhance it as I come across things that I missed while building it and will post updates accordingly.

    Take Care,
    Don

      Don your awesome man.
It's your ratings system that I find to be the most realistic. Back in those days, a lot of what made the great players the great players that they were was the fact that the vast majority of the other players were what would be considered "average" by today's standards. I like how all of your greats aren't straight up "99's".
Yes, even Mickey Mantle had slumps, and Denny McLain got his *** handed to him by the Cards in World Series Game one.
That is why I so very much want to use your Rosters in an actual season. The ability to make the same kinda moves that Mayo Smith made to get through that year like moving Mickey Stanley in from CF to SS for the World Series was brilliant.
I don't know, it just makes me feel good to see those guys and hear those names.
In 1971 at the tender age of 10, my heart was broken and I lost my innocence when my hero, (whom I wore my cap exactly like, and copied his windup for MY Little League windup) Denny McLain got busted for Racketeering.
Don't let anyone tell you that these guys weren't role models for us kids, because they were.
It takes me back to playing catch with my dad, and listening to Ernie Harwell calling the games on "The Great Voice of the Great Lakes" WjR on hot, muggy Detroit summer nights with a fan blowing in my bedroom because we didn't have air-conditioning in those days.

Yeah, what your doing is spectacular, and I thank you for it.
I have to go right now, but I would be interested in talking to you about a couple of specific things when I have a little more time.

Don't rush on the '68 Tigers. I want to wait to be able to play them in the context of the rest of your teams in the "Late 60's" Roster.

And yes, I am on MLB15, and I downloaded your Early 60's roster and have been playing with it.
      Cheers!

Talkin' 'bout Ernie Harwell ........ have you ever enjoyed that game APBA's Broadcast Blast which was basically a Radio Broadcast of the games by Ernie Harwell with all past seasons available ?

Man, I enjoyed that game a long time and use to listen to it while in bed and/or in the tub ! It truly was a quality game.
