Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
I couldn't stay awake long enough to DL them last night, so I haven't looked at them yet. But Hrbek should have a pretty high power rating vs RHP, as he homered every 12 AB. Not sure it's 99 but it should be high, assuming his power vs LHP is way lower.
I'll be delving into these later tonight!Comment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
Armor,
I started looking at it last night, and I was just using baseball reference to do it, if you can clip away at it then upload the file for "rotations" or something I can take a picture of each team and breeze through it that way I can work on editing more faces this week. The power numbers for say a Hrbek or a McGwire will be large that year, between the top 5 guys from each league there is a huge fall off in power numbers which was expected, remember pre steroid baseball. What you will find is a lot of stolen bases especially in the minor leagues. The Pirates had a guy who stole 73 bases in the minors that year. That is an insane amount compared to todays gameComment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
I'm thinking Vince Coleman stole 100+ for the Cards in '87? Love the mix of speed and power that season. I'm hoping Eric Davis has better luck staying healthy in my franchise because I want to see what he could have done if not for the injuries!!Last edited by Joey; 02-03-2015, 10:39 AM.Comment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
Joey,
There are a few careers i would like to see play out Eric Davis, one of my favorites, Bo Jackson, Dravecky just to name a few. A funny story I heard about a real life encounter with Eric Davis
Guys says to him "Eric you used to be one of my favorite players."
Jokingly Davis responded "What do you mean, used to be?"
I forget where I heard that but I think that is one of the most awesome responses I have ever heard.
Yes, to confirm I am really happy how this turned out and i will do a few more tweaks and edits before Feb 9th so if there are errors let me know and then the final will be posted.
Thanks for the feedback.Comment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
I'm totally intrigued by Davis and also seeing if I can replicate Larkin's career as he was my favorite player growing up (I'm a huge Reds fan). It might also be a blast to see if Kal Daniels can be more than he was (with only two great seasons).Last edited by JoshC1977; 02-03-2015, 08:58 PM.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
Daniels stood out to me when going through as a guy that just basically disappeared. Ivan Calderon was another.
I already found some errors in Detroit with Shawn Holman replicated twice. I made changes already and kept Holman with original team from 1987 PIT, I think he came over in the Jim Morrison trade. I am fixing Sorrento as well.
Hrbek, the split was not as drastic between RHP and LHP believe it or not so I adjusted it, and guess what overall still comes to a 90 which I thought it would be 87. Either way works, but the avg was a bit low for CONR and CONLLast edited by jethrotull; 02-03-2015, 09:51 PM.Comment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
The one thing I noticed that bothered me was Schilling should probably in the Phillies system, right? He was in BoSox. I thought Bonds BrAgg was high (compared to Coleman, for instance, both shouldn't be 99). All in all, great roster and thx for it.Comment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
Schilling WAS in Boston's organization in '87. He wasn't in Philly until '92.
Edit:
I finally got to DL the roster and I'm seeing Bonds at 63 BR AGG?

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
Frank Thomas was tough somewhat but he didn't get drafted until 1989 so not really. Right on Schilling with the Bo Sox. Drafted I think 86 made his move in 1988. Frank Thomas is a great if it was one year I say yeah but two nah. I'll look at bonds and the other for sureComment

Re: 1987 Full 90 Man Roster
Very nice set. Playing this really makes me wish there was a way to get the old stadiums in the game! That would be the icing and cherry on top! I didn't dig too deep into the set but one thing I did see was your Jose Canseco is stupid accurate! Using him REALLY felt like it was him. The player model and batting stance was great.Comment
