All the San Diego guys will remain on the roster as usual, so anyone who played an MLB game in 2014 basically.

Marco Hernandez in with the Red Sox now.

Some of the players you listed in single A Figment may make the Iowa or Tennessee roster. Specifically Pimentel, Dent, Pineyro and Rosscup.

What roster they make makes no difference to me, it was just an organized way for me to list everyone that should make the team.

I think they're jumping the gun on the deadline personally. I think it should be held off until after the minor league rosters become set because when it comes to the minors alot of guys who don't make the level they're at get released, not sent down (unless they're prospects of course). So it's quite possible there will be guys on Iowa's roster who don't even stay in the organization. But nonetheless, I'll try an get my list together for you later after work.

What I meant was that many of those single A players can't fit on the roster and if the ones I list make the AAA or AA teams in real life they will only push more younger prospects off. Remember I am going to try and get AAA as close to 100% as it can be to real life and AA close to that, but I will remove career minor league players from AA in favor of high A players if they are worthy.

I agree. Iowa starts on April 9th and there will surely be many players that get released or don't end up on the Iowa roster like I think and therefore can be excluded from the roster. Makes it difficult to manage the roster when I have to include Daniel Bard or Germen when they may not be there on opening day. It's why my roster is so large right now.

I get that. That is one of the reasons why I asked if you are going to do a "Cubs Extras" roster again like last season? It is a flawed system considering the MLB and AAA team currently combine to carry 35 total pitchers, enough to fill all the way down through the AA with one extra prospect added. In my opinion, there should be SOME leeway with this roster set being attempted this early, but if the players are available to me (ie the "Cubs Extras" roster), then I have no problems putting the work in to import and export until I am happy with the rosters. For the record, I think Daniel Bard wont be one of the guys who request to be released after not making the MLB team, and I hope he finds success at the AAA level for the Cubs.

                  Hi,
I'm new to OS and MLB 15 the Show, so excuse me if I make some mistakes. I've been following this thread since my favorite team is the Cubs, and I'm getting MLB 15 the Show for the first time this year.
Anyways, I was wondering if Addison Russell should be in AAA? I thought I saw something about how he would start the season at Iowa?
Also, I didn't see Daury Torrez, Dylan Cease, and Justin Steele on Figment's list. I was wondering if MrOldboy could include some of them as well? Torrez had a pretty solid year at Kane County last year on a nice rotation, and Steele and Cease seem to be pretty well regarded. All of them seem to be higher ranked prospects than Lars Huijer. Thank you for reading.

I will definitely have extras. In fact The OSFM crew asked that we submit extras to them for roster updates down the line. i.e. say Teagarden is released, than someone else can be added from the extras.

Well as of now I am not planning on putting all the Iowa pitchers on the roster, just the ones that project to make the April 9th Iowa roster (active roster, not reserve). That will be sort of a guess, but I will also make extra guys in case I am wrong in who I think will be on the actual 25 man roster.

All 3 could be in the roster since they are ranked in top 30 by BA and mlb.com. I have them on my short list, but that thing is getting long and there are only a few spots left In order I'd say Torrez, Steele than Cease mainly due to their progression. Cease has yet to throw a professional pitch so he is a longshot. Some of the lower level guys are hard to fit in and I probably won't be able to fit all the top 30 prospects on. They can be extras though.

The lists people are posting are what they want to see in the roster. In the end I'll have to decide who to include, but I want to try and get the players that the community thinks are most important to get in.

Welcome to the OS community. The first thing you should do is go read the OSFM/Hybrid forums' first few posts, it will explain the goals and restrictions of this project in better detail. This can be found by going back to the rosters page and clicking on the "sticky" link at the top of the Los of forums.

As far as Addison Russell starting at AA, it doesn't really matter, these are things you can adjust yourself once you get the roster file or play your franchise. The reason I put him in AA is simply because he is not currently on the AAA roster in real life, and the AAA team already has enough 2B/SS players on the roster.

Many of this players were on my old list, but that was before the requirements for the makers were released on what has to be in their rosters. At the very least, each roster must include all players currently on an MLB or AAA roster. MLB, AAA, and AA all have a limit of 25 players on each team, plus 15 more in single A, giving a total of 90 players. The game only allows each team to carry up to 45 pitchers, and the Cubs currently have 35 players on roster between the MLB and AAA teams, only leaving room for 10 more pitching prospects.

Needless to say, those players did not make MY cut, that is not to say they won't make the final cut.

I recommend you go through the OSFM/Hybrid forum, and look through the game a little, then make a similar list for MrOldBoy. If you don't tell him who you want on the team, he doesn't know. Kinda how I'm probably the only person in the world who wants Cael Brockmeyer on the roster, but I let him know.

Feel free to ask of you have any more questions.

Maybe you could bring up an idea with Ridin and take a page from SCEA's book. Why can't we just put a handful of these guys in Free Agency to make room for a couple more "want" players instead of the currently rostered players. These could be guys who "project" to be cut by the April 9 deadline or something like that. Just an idea, let me know your thoughts

That could work, but they may not want to do that since other teams could sign those players I guess. They like everything to be as accurate as possible and I imagine that extends to free agency as well.

I actually have Brockmeyer as the next catcher so if a slot opens he will be on. Not the most exciting prospect, but he put up solid offensive numbers last year. He should get more attention if he can put together a full season of similar production.

I'm assuming you agree that there should be 8 catchers on the opening roster, and I am assuming they are:

                            Miguel Montero
                            David Ross
                            Wellington Castillo

                            Taylor Teagarden
                            Kyle Schwarber
                            Victor Caratini
                            Mark Zagunis

The only question is Zagunis. AZ phil has him as maybe playing more outfield than catcher and has actually referred to him as an ex-catcher. He will be in the roster, but if he is an OF than Willson Contreras would ge the spot. After that Brockmeyer.

But those are the obvious 8 so far.

I still haven't gotten around to preparing my projected list, I'll get to it tomorrow. I think to maybe simplify things for yourself just go with the top 20 from ba and MLB pipeline for now, see how things shake out and if there's room for more worry about them then. Just a suggestion cause let's be honest, how many of those guys are actually going to pan out.
