I don't know if anyone realizes this, but you can save yourselves hours of work by using the Y2y saves feature for your rosters. A day before MLB 15 the Show comes out start a franchise with MLB 14 the Show with the latest Hybrid rosters and select "CPU CONTROL ON". This will give you the ability to export individual players in that franchise and import them directly into a new roster set outside franchise mode.

From here all you need to do is update their accessories.

      Is this guaranteed to work?

That would be awesome if it's for real

Unless they have changed something from 2014.. I know for a fact that if you select "CPU control on" in 2014 you can export players mid franchise, but cannot import them. Trust me I have done it in 2014 even though people here have said it's not possible. The key is to select CPU control on. Somebody told me a few weeks ago that it's not possible, then I went and checked and it is possible.

It will still be somewhat time consuming, but so much quicker than creating the roster all over again. You would basically be exporting all created players per roster mid franchise using the y2y saves, then importing those players individually into the new created roster and overwriting the fake generic players.. You could honestly create each team in under 20 minutes this way. Obviously then going back and giving them their custom equipment.

This is the first I'm hearing of this.....kudos if true.

I'm hoping to god they didn't change it in 2015, but it is definitely possible in 2014. Try it out for yourselves. We could have osfm rosters done in just a few days.

Just did it myself. Incredible. Let's hope they didn't change it this year. That said we will still need to rerate players but thanks to you we can really get ourselves out on the right foot.

Do you know if there is a way we can do it from a franchise that is not originally set up on CPU CONTROL?

No, CPU control has to be on.. The latest Hybrid rosters are pretty accurate already though. I used the hybrid roster then downloaded Motown's Kang and Tomas, which were very accurate. If they somehow changed it in 2015 I will lose my mind.

So basically people can start editing the hybrid roster in 2014 right now and save time for 2015.

So this is how it would work basically?

We start a franchise in MLB 14 with CPU CONTROL on. Then when MLB 15 drops we just continue that franchise then export the Minor league players? Exit the franchise and we can import those players on the front end? (Edit Roster) Am I understanding that right?

That is killer. Hopefully it'll still work in MLB 15, this will save a ton of time and make the process way easier than having to record hours and hours of video for faces and ratings. etc........Fingers crossed.

Good lookin' out. There was another dude who said the same thing a few weeks ago, but he said it in such a manner that nobody took him seriously enough to try it and I believe he was banned shortly thereafter.

This is big news since it will allow us to kick off the data entry and inputting faces right now rather than starting from zero on 3/31. Exporting/importing thousands of players will still take time (we may need Art Vandelay for this job), but a lot less time than copying over faces and re-entering ratings would. Can you export both CAPs and SCEA players in this way?

Honestly, I'm a little shocked that the OSFM guys didn't already know this and/or that the SCEA devs didn't make it a point to tell them. It probably just hasn't been explored before because there has been no carry over feature until now, but exporting players from a franchise mode certainly would have been useful in the past (think about SCEA generated draft picks and such).

That was me a few weeks ago and i have no idea why I was banned. You can only export created players. If SCEA did not have knowledge of this, i don't even know what to say. We seem to know more about the game than they do.

Unfortunately, admitting to this will probably get you banned again, so I would consider deleting that post so the mods don't see it. I think you deserve a 2nd chance since you provided good info.

Alright everyone - thanks to our friend mlb15theshow it appears we have a nice loop hole to create this year's OSFM. I have already been talking to Knight, Ridin and Teeds tonight and we are currently planning a way to attack this new find. We will have to start a new thread for central info once we are completely set up, we will also need to ensure that this feature is available in the new game and that players copy seamlessly over in franchise.

                              What does this mean?

Basically we are a year ahead of where we thought we were.

We will be using CAPs already created in the Hybrid WIP Roster I have been using and posting. Ratings will be copied over from the spreadsheet now instead of later if everyone has free time to do so. I have a team to start on this now.

We will still need the following created and rely on each creator to produce this for their selected teams - a list of their desired created players added to the roster once we know for sure who is a SCEA player and who is missing - players who are not currently in our WIP roster created and sent to us for import like in past years - any ratings changes to non SCEA players on the spreadsheet *these will all be looked at subjectively

It also means for those not moving to the new game their will be a fairly updated version on the OSFM kicking around for 14.

What this doesn't mean is the OSFM being completed in days. Importing and exporting is still a very long and tedious process and we will still need to test ratings in the game and touch up anything that needs it before release. We may still plan on using either the first or second update for this roster so there is a chance to have some things corrected because this will be a year to year save roster moving forward.

How will we update the players licensed equipment and update the stances/deliveries? I have a lot of new updates for the Pirates.
