Re: OSFM & Hybrid 2015-Guidelines/Plans(Roster makers)

I'm intrigued by the hybrid this year. Wish I didn't get rid of 2014 so I could check out last Years. I usually don't want to wait the extra 3 weeks and after I get the O.G. release I never go in the vault again.

That's awesome. Thanks. I've always wondered why he took the sudden drop by scea standards. He used to be a 90 something then as soon as he moved to the 3 hole and started to hit he dropped in the 70's. Oh well I guess, that's why it's editable I suppose.

Only thing that worries me about using the hybrid is the scea draft classes. You would think the massive rating overhaul would create some inconsistencies. I usually do a lot of editing to the draft classes anyway, and if I remember correctly the computer generated draft classes usually suck and are already inconsistent.

It's just as inconsistent with a base roster. The reason I started the original Hybrid was to fix the glaring ratings errors that young players got. Yes there will be players drafted and rated to high. What I have taken to doing is creating a teams prospect or minor leaguer to replace the draft picks or rate them down myself. You have to fix their face anyway

In prior years I have thought about creating the actual MLB draft class, editing players after the draft. if you control all 30 teams then you can draft players close to what the real teams drafted in real life. I can't remember how editable the drafted players are in season, but if I remember correctly you can edit everything. This is obviously a massive undertaking but I think I'm gonna try this year. With y2y it makes more sense. I'm not as particular about equipment and the like but if I can get skin tones and faces close and keep the ratings in line with the hybrid this could be awesome.

Hey guys....quick question for ya....(no, not THAT one)

In the past I usually just used the OD base roster for the year. But this year, with the Hybrid being released on the heels of the OD, I might use that. My question is, do you guys(who work on the Hybrid)go back and re-edit the guys created for the OS roster or just the SECA guys?(I would imagine you dontneed to-but thought it wouldnt hurt to ask).

Thanks again for all the amazing work fellas.

I have seen some replies talking about editing draft classes. Is this an actual possibility? Can you create draft classes like you can in the NBA 2K series

This year the CapS created for the O.S.F.M. will be mostly if not all the same in both rosters, the major edits in the Hybrid are for the SCEA created "individuals."

No. But you can edit and fully customize every player that gets drafted.

                        Update 4/6:

We are still waiting on a few teams to finish up, around 10 or so. That being said..... The workaround has helped us tremendously with the speed of this set, so we are gonna aim to release.....

This coming weekend for OSFM V1.

Now it may be Saturday or it may be Sunday depending on how things shake out but thats the plan. Remember this will be V1 so there will be corrections for V2 . Hybrid will begin work as soon as this file is completed and hope to have out within a few days of us. We will keep you guys updated.

Just curious.. and no I didn't read all 50 pages of this thread, so rip me a new one if needed, but I loaded a franchise from mlb 14 with the OSFM roster from last year and then imported all of the Braves minor league players and it took me about 30 mins. Is this the format guys are using for this years? Granted my roster had been updated all the way through spring training so it was pretty accurate, but for the little work it took me I can have all the minors for all the teams that were done last year. All the hard work last year by the guys who did the rosters have my roster pretty well set this year. Any updated ratings edits would need done still but at least this gives people a roster with full minors this year to play with instead of bugging the people working on this years. BTW... I had a roster with Y. Thomas, Moncada, Oliviera. Just a thought for everyone wanting the roster to be done...

This is going to sound very nooby, but what's the different about the hybrid? Ratings edits for existing players?

                                Thanks.
