Found a way to create players with service time

Don't know if this is old news, or even how useful it will be, but I found a way to create players with service time:

    1. Start a short season with CPU roster control on.
    2. Sim ahead 5 years or so.
    3. Find non-rookie generated players with service time in the cpu roster control section.
    4. Export player.

When you import the player onto a roster he will be fully editable and won't have the rookie status symbol and won't qualify for rookie awards in a season or franchise.

A small detail for roster makers.

Again, don't know how useful it will be considering you can now import from 14, but if you're starting from scratch it may be useful.

Re: Found a way to create players with service time

I went ahead and uploaded some "blank" players to the vault, to save people the process I outlined above.

    They are:

    Veteran RH Pull Hitter
    Veteran LH Pull Hitter
    Veteran Balanced Hitter
    Veteran Pitcher

    Also:

    Rookie Balanced Hitter

I may still add Rookie Pull Hitters, but will likely just make any rookies balanced hitters. Not even sure how much of an impact pull hitters have compared to balanced. I think the difference is minimal.

For the Veterans each have 3 or 4 years service time, and like I say they won't be counted as rookies.

Actually a great way to make EXACT service times.

      Good thinking!

        Oh wow!

        ....

Oh ****, I gotta redo my whole file?! Nah come to think of it, I think I handled the YOS pretty good, MLB 14 had a good selection of editable guys with YOS so I could create rookies, Super 2 eligible, "free agents in one years" and vets.

BUT, this could also be a great way to get create players that have used all their minor assignment options. No more A/B level prospect hoarding!

You could even just take players ported from 14 (non-current players at least, because current players can't be exported) and accumulate service time for them this way. You'd have to fix the ratings after exporting them, because ratings change from season to season, but you wouldn't have to create them from scratch either.

They'd even accumulate career stats this way as well.

Hey RandyBass, can you explain how you export the player? I'm in season mode, but for the life of me can't figure out how to export out of season?

Hey Knight, I downloaded the guys from the vault that RandyBass posted and the stats carry over too. Hello former MLB players that weren't in the game? If someone was careful with stats and player locked we could make players with their real-life service time and stats.

Sorry, didn't make that clear. It's in the cpu roster control section. Updated the original post to clarify. Just select a generated player from there by pressing x, and there's an option to export.

That would be some serious dedication.

Re: Found a way to create players with service time

This a great little trick. If we can get players exported to the vault then they could be simply named according to their service time and tendency. For example, "2pull" or something similar could mean a pull hitter with 2 years, etc...

Since they included the ability to edit contract info, why oh why oh why did they not include the ability to edit service time? Ugh. On a positive note, it's great to see flapless batting helmets. Nice touch.

Re: Found a way to create players with service time

Regarding accumulated stats, one thing that possibly could be done is to take milestones into consideration. So for example if a player hit his 300th homerun in a certain year, you could create a player using this process with close to 300 career HRs so that they were likely to get that milestone during the first year of franchise/season mode.

This could be manipulated beforehand by creating a rookie in a roster file (so that he could be exported) with jacked up stats (high power for HRs, high speed for SBs, etc) and then going through this process of accumulating service time and stats.

                      Another little small detail.

From what I am reading let me get this straight, you could create a player and accumulate stats for that player and then once they've reached the stats or service time level you want then you export them and then import them into your roster and you've got your minor leaguer with accurate service time?

Where are you looking to export players? For the PS4 there is a specific section called CPU Roster Control. Not sure how it's set up on the PS3.

CPU roster control is on there and that's how it's done one ps3! Thank you so much.
