1930 Season Roster

Wanted to see what the interest is in a 1930 Season Roster. I have started it and have the Red Sox mostly complete, but before I make the plunge in to actually completing all the teams for 1930 I just wanted to make sure there is an interest in this.

I have always found the 20s through 40s in baseball fascinating for some reason and thought it would be cool to recreate those years. So if there is interest I will start these. Hopefully we are getting year to year roster transfers starting with MLB 16 so these don't have to be redone every year.

Let me know what you all think. I will be keeping this thread updated with progress as well. Also I would like to get some help with faces (or rather a lot of help) if anyone is interested in tackling some of the players.

Edit -Since there seems to be at least a little interest these are under way. Below you will find my progress on various stages of the roster.

I'm going to go ahead and go forward with the 1930 set. Any suggestions for the teams that didn't exist in 1930? I thought i would do those teams inaugural year rosters or just doing some made up rosters.

You could do Negro League teams

If you could get some good information (which IIRC, is a little hard to find), you might try some of the Negro League teams from that era to replace the modern era teams.

I'll look into the Negro League and see if I can get some accurate stats to make accurate ratings. Hopefully I can also find some pictures of the players too.

baseball reference and seamheads.

.....the trouble you're going to have is filling out teams. They didn't have a lot of players ....16...20?....

They played all games....every day back then with no subs.

A 1930 set would be AWESOME!!! I loved playing the 1930 set on High Heat Baseball. Great offensive year, and I would agree with the other guys that using negro league teams would be great.

I'd love to play a 30's season. This is where custom leagues would come in handy. It's hard to enjoy a 30's season with so many teams that did not exist then. Please give us the ability to create custom leagues, divisions etc...

I'm perplexed why you can do this in an online franchise but not offline.

I never knew that as I never play on line. So can I create a custom league on line and control all the teams?

Yes you can. Or you can have the other teams be cpu controlled.

If you use my RBU utility (thread is somewhere in this forum), you can run 1930 and then use the player generator to fill out rosters and blank teams. It will use first and last names from the appropriate historical era.
