Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
Update:
Ok I know everyone is anxious. We are very close. We are down to less than 2 teams. After that there are some adjustments, tweaks and review and we will have V1 out. I wont set a time but it will be tomorrow. My goal is to get it out in time to give everyone some time to get some games in on Sunday evening. The next update I give you guys tomorrow I will tell you the time we are gonna release them. Thanks again to everyone involved and everyone here at OS.Comment

Yes you will. We have Sunshine as QB, and our RB is actually a running back now...not a FB. We do need LB's though.Watch me game on Twitch!

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
Hey guys. I am not the type to do this but with what my life has become the last 6 months I am going to throw it out there.
I am not asking for any kind of compensation for doing this so please do not take it that way. When people started fundraising for our family I rejected it at first.
Every year guys offer to donate money to guys who put their own time into building these rosters. I do it for the pure enjoyment I get out of someone else enjoying my work. I have received a couple of PMs from guys asking where they can donate. Normally I smile and move forward. But for the people who legitimately want to and can afford to do this - read on
This year is different and after talking to Ridin, I decided to create this post. Please I don't want I'm sorry etc from everyone - that kinda comes as understood.
Many of you know my wife and I had a baby last June and I stepped away from the hybrid for a bit to adjust to our new life. What only a handful know is back in August and September of last year he was diagnosed first with a heart issue and then liver issues. Since then my family has been living out of Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto as well as the nearby Ronald McDonald House so we can stay together as a family while we wait for a liver donation and eventually his heart repair.
Both of these places are fantastic facilities but would not be without donations - they charge us $15 a night at Ronald McDonald House and it costs them roughly $150 per family (there can be up to 81 families there each night all with critically ill children, and whom live 59kms or more away - many families are from all over Canada)
So if anyone would truly like to give back to at least one person in this community financially, I am asking that you donate to one of Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto or Ronald McDonald House Toronto. Both have info on their sites how to do so.
Thank you to anyone who does. It may not help my family directly but there are so many families you could be helping.

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
That's amazing. Guys I don't expect this but greatly appreciate it. I just thought it would be a nice way to direct the offers of donations we get every year.
I had never set foot in Sick Kids before last September and thought of RMH as more of a hostel, which some are but the one in Toronto is absolutely incredible. I am lost for words for the amount of people who have reached out to me tonight.
Again it wasn't really attention I was seeking, more bringing awareness to a good cause with a personal touch from one of us - but it really was nice to read the kind things people have written me.
Working on these rosters was always a refuge from daily life - just more so this year and you guys will hopefully see the result of my extra attention to them when the roster releases.

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
Ok... So I'm new to MLB (and baseball in general as I'm from the UK lol) but I'm really enjoying my first ever franchise as the Nationals. I get it from the love here that these are the best rosters out there but what makes them so great? Is it worth it to scrap my chise and start again?Comment

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
Willard,
I grew up with a disability and my family and I spent a lot of time in the local Children's Hospital. I am where I am today because of that hospital and lots of wonderful people who donated time and money. My family, while not poor, was not financially well-off and those hospital bills really take a chunk out of one's wallet. I can totally empathize with what you and your family are going through. As a small thanks for your efforts and those of the OSFM team; I too have donated $50 to the SickKids hospital in Toronto.
I wish you all the bestPlay the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment
