Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
You can edit each team before simming Spring Training and cut down each roster to your preferred 25 players. Once you've done that, they'll stick through Spring Training and you won't have to worry about a bunch of minor leaguers or prospects making random teams -- this especially helps if you want realistic lineups matching current rosters and prevents teams from automatically designating veterans for assignment when they have no options left.Comment

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
You're not the only one. That seems to be a huge issue with a ton of people. They set it up incorrectly then they just toss the option to the side like it doesn't work properly. It's a completely different game when using 30 team control (Better game in my opinion) when it is used correctly. I always have and always will recommend 30 team control to all.Madden 18Kansas City ChiefsYr 1 (0-0) Pre-Season (0-1)

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
I will also chime in here on 30 team control. It is an absolute game changer. I've been using it since the first edition it came out and there's no way in heck I would use anything but 30 team control. Many of the people that say they don't like it either A. Don't want to do a little extra work to make their franchise great, B. Don't understand what it is, or C. Set it up wrong. All 30 team control does is allow you to fix the things you don't like about franchise mode. If you don't like how the CPU handles lineup management, go ahead and fix it. If you don't like the trade logic, go ahead and fix it. If you want certain teams to sign certain free agents, go ahead and do it. If you want to manually injure someone, go ahead and do it. The list just goes on and on. Plus you can turn these options on and off at any point in time. It makes this franchise mode the best of any other sports game out there.
I still find it funny how the things people complain about in franchise mode, are normally all things you can fix by using 30 team control. The trade logic complaint is really the one that makes me go crazy because by using 30 team control it is 100% fixable and it is so easy to handle. Deny the trades teams offer that you don't like, and allow the teams to decide if they want to accept the trades that are fair.
My suggestion is to take the time to set it up properly and have fun. Read the step by step guide the other guys have posted links to. It's actually very easy and so worth it.NHL-Minnesota Wild

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
Just my two cents,
I always use 30-Team Control with no injuries. For my own team, I do a "Hat of Death" thing every "week" in the game. Basically, I write down the names and put them into the hat, injury prone get an extra name or two depending on if we're talking Jose Reyes injury prone or Nick Johnson injury prone. Manual injure them that way. Occasionally, I'll do it with other teams, usually using like the All-Star voting menu so that it's not just some bench player. I also have a hat of varying degrees of injuries, so it's totally random that some guy might pull a hammy or might end up having Tommy John surgery.
And then for trades, once a month I see what makes sense for various teams. Maybe Team A needs a pitcher and Team B needs a hitter and they both have a surplus. Stuff like that. And then bigger trades come July. Just going with my gut on what makes sense.
As for Free Agents, basically the same thing as the injuries. Pick the teams that make the most sense, put them in a hat, that's who bids on the Free Agent and ultimately signs him. Sometimes you want to give the big market teams an extra vote or maybe do a hometown discount and give their former team an extra vote (I usually do unless it doesn't make sense for them to keep him), or maybe like a, "He lives on the West Coast so those teams are probably getting priority" thing, that all makes sense to me. But yeah, since this is all coming up, I thought I'd share how I like to do things within my own franchise.Comment

I think a lot of people don't realize this and will be pretty upset when they're fired year three and can't control their team anymoreComment

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
Because even though you don't actually play the other 29 teams, you're still controlling them so it takes out the point of having GM goals. You can't be fired from a team when you control all 30 of them.Comment

Re: OSFM 2015 Progress
Yes but you can also be fired if you don't impress on your 3 year contract..saw one guy said he took the cubs to three straight playoffs and got fired for not winning a pennant by 2018.
