Re: OSFM2015 V.1 - Corrections
First of all I just want to thank everyone who had a hand in the V1 opening day rosters. Great job everyone. I can't imagine the long hours you put in. i applaud the guys who work on those year after year.
I really want to start my franchise but if the V2 is almost done I want to wait. Does anyone know an approximate ETA on the next roster set.Comment

Re: OSFM2015 V.1 - Corrections
For those waiting on V2, here are some details on it. Since I keep seeing the "bashing" V1 has taken .... Even though it has over 35,000 downloads lol and everyone has taken the file to make a "better" set. Keep in mind this is the same OSFM that we have been releasing since we started OSFM sets. I have been involved with this project since then with Knight and we will continue to turn out the best we can for this amazing community. Knight has set a high standard for rosters and we will continue to put out great sets for you. We have some great things planned for this years future versions and are already planning ahead to 2016's.
Heres some details on V2:
-Scea players added in roster updates will be added to this set as this set we try to remain as true to SCEA's ratings as possible for the best possible play in long term franchise.
-hundreds of equip edits
-hundreds of facial touch ups
-dozens of new/added players
-motion/stance edits
-contract edits
-current/ up to date transactions- V1 was set to opening day but this version will be current with current 40 man rosters
Ill keep you posted but my plan is to have these out very soon. Not this week soon but within next couple weeks. When we get closer I will update you.
Thanks

Re: OSFM2015 V.1 - Corrections
So the drafted players coming in with high OVR/POT means that existing prospects have to at least match that or they're completely useless fodder. I'd rather have guys like Moncada come in and seem a little high than have them all be obsolete fodder after the first draft class.
Yeah, there's definitely a balance to be found. Your original post seemed to be advocating for all of the prospects to be worse than what they need to be to actually pop out and play like they should. Moncada's OVR looks high, but if you look at his ratings it's mostly wrapped up in stuff that's realistic for a guy with that ceiling to be good at for his age.
Most teams aren't getting high OVR players that are plug and play right out of the drafts. Ive done my fair share of franchise simulating since the release. No foreseeable draft will make Moncada fodder. In fact with CPU trade on. They are likely to trade pedroia because of Moncada.Comment

At this point I've realized that some things I've complained about aren't the fault of OSFM but in the game design. How has SCEA not put you guys on the payroll yet?
Seriously though what day is V2 coming out! :Freddy:Comment

Re: OSFM2015 V.1 - Corrections
I have made my own current version of the OSFM rosters, rated the SCEA based on stats from fangraphs from the 2014 season, until V2 comes out of course.
It's called "OSFM 2015 fangraph" USER: CTMILLER5
Hitters: Contact based on BABIP, Power based on ISO (Used L/R splits)
Pitchers: H/9 based on BABIP against, BB/9 based on BB/9, K/9 based on K/9, Stamina based on IP/GS.
I also edited fielding stats based on the fans scouting report, which resulted in some drastic changes. However, these changes have been nice for gameplay as I have found some more bloop hits to fall in front of poor defense, especially if you take down solid hit sliders. I would have liked to add in the vision, clutch, and discipline ratings, but I was ready to just go ahead and play the game at that point.
Again, everything was made exactly to the formulas I made relative to the whole league, so there isn't any bias in the roster. The only thing I adjusted was if a guy had an awful awful year, I would adjust contact ratings to a minimum of 35, to at least stay ahead of the farm guys.Comment

Re: OSFM2015 V.1 - Corrections
What is the logic behind giving right handed hitters better power numbers vs right handed pitchers so often? SCEA does it too (and same goes for left handed hitters). Is it a simulated stats thing?
Im not a big fan of how they rate power to begin with. Ideally there would be a strength rating for ability to hit the ball far and a separate rating for home run frequency. And there's still no way to make vision better vs lefties or rights (maybe next year).
Anyway I was just wondering if you guys rate power based on home run totals vs R/L or if its a % thing?
Thanks again, you roster saints!Comment

Can you fix Didi Gregorius's bat? It's Maroon on top and natural grain on bottom with white tape (not crossed).Comment

Riding
Thank you for taking the time to let us know as I am anticipating V2. I will wait for that set since you and Knight were the originals and no matter what anyone posts have the best work. JMeyers and I did the 1987 90 man set and tried to follow the depth that you guys have been doing for a long time with OSFM, so in short thank you and looking forward to it.Comment
