The game (and these Hybrid rosters) really capture the "variances of baseball" nicely, so it's really not a big deal...more of a "curiosity" that he projected out to have a ton of power and not be able to hit for average, and so far the real Bryant is the opposite of that....which is also a small sample, so...

On the other hand, guys like LaStella and Baez are killing it for me, so the system both "giveth and taketh away"...

    All good...
Do you play all the games yourself?

Because if that is the case, I can actually see where Bryant would be hard to hit with. He has a very small PCI (So do Baez and Russell).

I apologize. You actually have a good point because I remember thinking the same thing. When simming (which I was doing to check the accuracy of these ratings), the numbers look really good. But if you play every game I could see where Bryant would be a guy you might not like to use.

I always pick one starter (this year's choice is Cubs / T. Woods) play those games and sim the rest...

Bryant can be tough to hit with, not only is his PCI small, but his height creates a strike zone that is very dissimilar to the rest of the players...

Baez has a small PCI, but his relative size make it easier...

Despite all that, the sim stats were what was standing out, not the played games...

The guy hit .100 and was generally useless...

The motivation behind my question was to simply learn more about how the projection tools used by Hybrid makers (like 3 year zips aggregates) translate to ratings in game...

In this example, the "broad strokes" would be to back off on the power, tweak contact VERY slightly and give a more significant bump to the attributes that are influenced by training with the "Hitting Coach"...

That's Bryan'ts "auto" training, so those are the attributes he's most deficient in...

That way, instead of increasing his OVR, one redistributes his attribute points to get a more realistic sim stat line...

I know THAT much about the issue at hand, the broad strokes...

But how much of what to adjust is up to the guys who actually take those zips projections and translate them to the game...

I think he was predicted to K more and BB less than he is, you could increase his plate vision and discipline to account for that. That would make his PCI bigger and make more contact without affect BABIP and overall HR numbers. Might lower power as well since he is doing less than expected there thus far and it can still grow.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, thanks!

How much of a bump to Vision and Discipline would you recommend?

I want to make a difference, without overdoing it...

I'm guessing, raise those two and then lower power to keep the 83 OVR intact?

What kind of numbers translate to an impact?

I bumped his vision up to 29. He's hitting .255 with 8 homers and 49 strikeouts through 137 at bats.

That's with me managing 85-90% of the time...he hits significantly better when I do the hitting, probably sitting in the 240s without my assistance.

First time user of this roster, but KingV2K turned me on to it, and I really like it. Nice work!
