    Player retirements

Does anyone know the formula for this this year? I know last year the June draft seemed to be the trigger date. If a player had an injury at that point, they would retire due to injury at the end of the season, and if a free agent wasn't signed by the draft they would retire due to a poor free agent market at the end of the season. Does anyone know if this is the same this year? Are there any other factors I don't know for? I assume some people have simmed ahead. I'd like to add some upcoming draft class players to the free agent list so I can have them for season two, but I'd hate to see them retire because they weren't signed before the draft.

It's pretty close to previous years though not every player is automatic to retire. I wished retirements were a user controlled option. Far too many guys go way too early.

Any player sitting in the Free Agent list needs to be signed by a team before June (Must be a multi-year deal) or they will retire. Not all players in the FA list will retire, but high potential players definitely will if they go unsigned before June or more than half the season.

Ok, so I guess we could add international free agents and upcoming draftees to the free agent pool before we start a franchise, and then just make sure they are signed to a multi-year deal before June? I suppose that could work, but it just means we would need to stash them in A ball and sacrifice a couple lesser prospects from each team. Thoughts?

That would be the best way to go.

What's the most efficient process to switch free agents from a roster with caps? I will probably swap out the legend players first since I won't use them in franchise.
