Does this mean you are using the AAA & AA slots for the 2nd & 3rd years for each team as listed on the 1st page of this thread and will release them all as part of a single roster? Or, will you be releasing 3 separate rosters with each set in the MLB slots?

Thanks for all your hard work with this project,
    Don
Thanks Don. It'd take me a lot longer without your fantastic 60s sets. It'll be one roster with the other teams in the minors. The first listed team will be at the major league level and following teams (If applicable) will sit in AAA then AA.

The '99 Mets were a fantastic defensive team.

If memory serves, the infield starters (Piazza, Olerud, Alfonzo, Ventura and Ordonez) committed only 33 combined errors the entire season. I believe that is an MLB record.

On the offensive side, I believe every starter finished the season with a .300+ BA. Well, all of them except for Rey Ordonez. He was a terrible hitter.

Getting things moving along once again. The '96 Rangers and the '98 Astros are now done.

Been a month since my last update, and I'm still plugging along. Almost done of the NL East and Central with the AL totally set. Just note: I've added the 1950 Phillies in place of the '93 squad and slipped in the '85 Cardinals for the '82 edition. I'll get the '82 St Lou team out as well but it might be on the second version.

Hoped the initial version would be ready by month's end but with family coming home and summer being what it is, could now be early to mid August but it will be completed.

OK... so only 5 teams left (marked with asterisks on first page) and I'm hoping for a version 1 release this weekend or beginning of next week at the latest. I updated the teams to be included on the first page. I swapped out the '67 Cardinals for the '64 team.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm a 49 year old gamer and I only use classic rosters when I play The Show.Your teams are set so no moving players around and you get to relive so great memories and matchup. Couple more days and these will be posted. Enjoy them.

Re: Great Teams of the 20th Century

I'm happy to announce that Version 1.0 of my project is complete! All teams are on the initial post.

There are plenty of people that deserve credit here as well starting first and foremost with doncropper and RWings832. All three of us classic roster makers have adopted JTommys RBU so all our player ratings are consistent and teams quite interchangeable. Pretty much all the 60's teams here are don's creations and the 80's teams belong to RWings. If you are a fan of players with high overall ratings then this set might not be for you as there are many facets in rating players so there are a wide range of values to be considered. A player would have to have had a standout year to reach the 90s, with very good players rating in the 80's and your average Joes in the 70's and high 60's.

Also a huge shoutout to many other CAP makers besides myself, don and Rwings who are responsible for the tremendous likenesses you'll see in this set. Thanks to community members such as BieBig2010, Dr. Sublime, pjsnell and Hoozierdaddy61 to name a few.

Now I did say this was version 1.0 as I plan on adding more teams in the future. My next additions I'm planning on will be the '49 Red Sox, '98 Red Sox, '04 Red Sox (Yeah I know they aren't 20th century but they broke the curse and as Eck says "I gotta have them"), '48 Indians, '82 Cardinals, and the '54 Giants.

Then I'll be looking at early teams pre 1947 such as the '41 Yankees, '27 Yankees, '33 Giants, '35 Tigers, '30 Athletics, and '46 Cardinals. I'll may also fire a few more of my teams from my Sensational 70s set in (some are there now) and could add a few more teams from the 90s.

I'll be stepping away for a while to play for a spell, but hopefully in mid to late fall I'll have a version 2.0 out. As far as a version 3.0, that might be in the New Year if I still have the desire, but I might be creating them on MLB 15 as I plan on moving to the new title from '14 in the fall sometime. I hoping this is the end of the roster creating from scratch as there are rumblings of a straight up port of roster files in MLB 16. I also have my fingers crossed for custom leagues. Anyway check out the first post for teams and ENJOY!

These can be converted to '15 "easily" enough if someone has some time.....and don't forget the carry over as well which is simply starting in '14 and taking it to '15.
If you do that...you can export the players from franchise in '15 and import them into a roster that will be usable for '15 as well.

boston.....I haven't gotten a chance to download yet(at work)....but thank you....I'll be playing with these for sure!

Thanks Knight. I look forward to your rosters over on '15 when I upgrade and if anyone has the time and wants them on '15 you are more than welcome to do as Knight said above. I will be moving them but I don't have '15 yet. I plan to pick it up cheap during the off season. Since I only use classic rosters, I don't feel the need to get the new titles when they are released as it is about $40 in the difference buying them in the off season. Call me frugal lol
