Well I'm back in it in the Motor City. Two big wins which will now force a critical Game #5 with a rematch of Game #1 starters Lonborg and McClain.

    Game 3

Pitching, defense and 2 out RBIs win a lot of ball games!

So here's a list of additional teams I've decided on for future versions of this project:

      '49 Red Sox
      '98 Red Sox
      '04 Red Sox
      '41 Yankees
      '27 Yankees
      '29 Cubs
      '30 A's
      '33 Giants
      '46 Cardinals
      '34 Cardinals
      '35 Tigers
      '82 Cardinals
      '85 Yankees
      '48 Indians
      '54 Giants

I aim to have them all in by the end of the calendar year with an update coming in the fall.

I swept the Tigers at home and am now up 3-2! Time to get back to the Fens and finish this. Then off to the World Series!

Hey buddy. Glad you dropped by. I've been playing the NLCS as well using the '55 Dodgers against the '64 Cardinals. That series is knotted at 2-2 with a rematch of Game 1 coming up: Gibson vs Newcombe. Highlights will be posted.

Re: Great Teams of the 20th Century

I made a couple edits. '79 Pirates I replaced Ed Whitson with Dave Roberts, part of the Madlock deal. I added Rick Rhoden who was hurt and put him A ball and use him as a spot starter because back then teams carried only 10 pitchers. Added Matt Alexander pinch running specialist. Switched Milner to left handed fielding. He is correct on the Expos.

Cubs - kept Buckner even though he went to Boston later that year. Replaced Mel Hall with Gary Woods. Hall went to Cleveland mid season, but he is a freaking multi sex offender serving hard time. No way I'm playing with a pervert.

Made some minor rating adjustments. I'll let you know if I make other changes..

You got some room on some teams for some of those teams you mentioned. They just won't be affiliated with the appropriate organization. Tough to choose which teams you want in the Majors.
Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.

Go ahead and make all the changes you like. They are pliable for anyone who wishes to mold them to suit their needs. I realize some players moved in trades but I had to settle on a particular roster time frame because the teams some players were traded to obviously aren't included in my set. Thanks for the heads up on Milner. I will be filling up those open spots for certain franchises in the next edition but I won't be putting teams in that aren't connected with the proper franchise. I play playoffs most of the time so I just move the teams up and down so having certain teams at the ML level isn't a concern for me right now. If I decide on playing a season though, the choices will be tough for sure.

Playoffs seem to make the most of these rosters as you can get through a series quicker and the restart with all the other teams. Doing on both 14 & 15 and also trying some of the other rosters. Was thinking about adding the 91 and 68 Pirates to the mix and putting them on one of the expansion teams. I'll figure something out.

I'm going to update version 1 with as many empty franchise slots as I can with my proposed teams and then I'm going to do a version 2 substituting a few teams from version 1. Those are two good Pirate teams. I just can't get into using teams if they aren't with the proper franchise. Same with the uniform numbers as the retired ones stick in playoffs but you lose them in season play.

The home team has yet to win a game in this series as the Tigers force a Game 7. Mickey Lolich won his third game of the playoffs and second at Fenway with a 3 hit complete game shutout. All hands on deck for the finale.

Sadly, the bats fell silent at home and the '68 Tigers took the series. Lefty Dennis Bennett exited after 6 IP with a 1-0 lead courtesy of a Tony C solo shot, but things unraveled late as the pen couldn't hold on. Had plenty of fun though and I'm now going into another game 7 on the NL side as I forced the issue with the '55 Dodgers against the '64 Cards.
