    Converting Starting Pitchers to Relievers

In my franchise, let's say I want to convert a failed starter into a reliever, do I need to make any changes ratings wise? For example, do I need to add points to his velocity, and take points away from his stamina? Does anybody have a formula? Thanks.

Not a formula, but I typically drop their Stamina into the 40s and add 2-3 mph to each pitch. I'll also raise Clutch, K/9, and H/9 about 10 points, and the break of each pitch 8-10 points.

    Basically, make their "stuff" better

When SCEA updates SP to RP in their weekly updates, they usually just drop stamina to the 40s or so.

Is that it for sure? Isn't there a set 30 or 40 some points they subtract?

I'm not sure how I feel about messing with /9 stuff when converting a SP to a RP but it makes sense to give a little velocity boost.

As for the stamina, doesn't that really depend on the bullpen role the guy is expected to take on? A swing man and a guy you want in the back of the bullpen would probably need a different adjustment.

Would you agree with me on the following?

            Long Reliever:
            -15 Stamina

            Middle Reliever:
            -30 Stamina
            +5 Velocity

            Setup/Closer:
            -40 Stamina
            +10 Velocity

As far as stamina goes, I would do a gradual weekly decrease until I hit the final number I want, usually somewhere between 25 & 40.

If I plan on using him as a long reliever/spot starter, then I might not shave off any stamina (& definitely not more than 15 points, if I do).

Is that 5 clicks and 10 clicks or 5 mph and 10 mph? 5-10 mph is too much velocity to add. Otherwise, I think that should work.
