Can Someone Explain the Year-to-Year Save?

I have not done a year to year save file yet - as '15 was the first year I had a PS4.

How does this work exactly with roster saves? I've read the feature list from the game and that brief blurb, but would someone be willing to fill me in on the details behind this feature and how it truly works? Additionally, what are the pros and cons behind this mechanic?

    Thanks in advance.

I'll take a stab at explaining but I'd like to warn you first by saying I'm not 100% sure.

From my experience, once you import the save over, any player who doesn't have an SCEA body is gone. They still have service time and all their previous attributes but their face is generic. Another thing is that players won't get their facescan face. Like if you carry over the Cubs, Kris Bryant will still have whatever face you have for him instead of the MLB16 scan. However there is a workaround but I'm not 100% positive. If you have the version of the player from the official roster update, then the player's face will become the facescan for the new game.

For schedules since I've heard a lot of people concerned about them, you will get your updated schedule for 2016 if you wait to advance to Spring Training until after you carry over to MLB16.

New features will not be imported onto your players. For example, you'll only have the original running style and none of the new equipment like eyewear, guard logos or catcher's gear.

    I hope this helps.
BFR's future is still TBD, stay tuned for updates

So in terms of accurate rosters, is it better to get a '15 version the way you'd like it, with prospects and all, and then import to '16 - or would it be better to wait? That's what my question stemmed from. It'd give me something to do while I wait for '16, but I don't know if it's worth it or not.

I'd say MLB15 if you don't mind all the created faces. That's what I'm actually in the process of doing until MLB16 comes out.
