Actually by the numbers A-Rod is the slowest runner in the entire league.

This was the average top speed of the fastest (left) slowest (right) in 2015. That's the result of his hip injuries, he isn't fastest than Beltran and not a better baserunner in fact Beltran is one of the smartest baserunners in the game last time i checked he was top 3 in career SB % he doesn't have anymore the speed to steal bases but his instincts are there.

Two that jumped out to me, as a Giants fan, are Matt Duffy and Kelby Tomlinson. I was totally expecting Kelby to be in the 80's with regards to speed, and not the 67 they have him at.

Duffy being rated a 54, is laughable. There is no way he should be slower than Crawford(58) or Panik(65). He came up as a speedy, utility guy (which Tomlinson is, now). Even as he fills out for everyday 3B work, he should still be in the mid 70's in speed, at least.

Just a quick two cents but Jose Iglecias (SS, DET) has always struck me as getting the shaft a bit on speed. Not a true base-stealing threat type of guy but he has surprised me quite a few times beating out grounders to first. I have him as a 69 in my Franchise; think he's like a 56 or something on the default roster.

He has 67 speed by default, last year he was rated in the 50's but was updated later in the year, he's tough to rate but i think he's near 70, he has avg speed his instincts and quick first step are the ones that give him that great range.

What about starlin Castro and didi gregorius on the Yankees? I think both should be mid 70s

I don't consider neither a mid 70's runner, mid 70's is above average, Castro in his first couple of years was probably a 75 runner but i think that he's more of a 67-69 runner now and Gregorious is slightly a below avg runner, like Iglesias he's an above avg defender thanks to his hands, arm, instincts and quick first step.

Ian Kinsler is not nearly as fast as Jose Iglasias. You bumped Kinsler to a 72. Either Kinsler is too high, or Jose should be minimum 80. A couple years ago he lead the AL (maybe MLB) in infield hits. Just my two cents.

I have no statistical data to back this up, but my eye test says there is nobody more deserving of the infamous 1 speed rating than Victor Martinez! He has to be really close to the slowest base runner in the league. I think SCEA gave him an 11.

I was just gonna post the same thing. Kelby is reportedly the fastest guy on the Giants team, and Duffy is definitely quicker than a 54

Curious what it showed for Brett Gardner? Isn't he one of the fastest players in the game?

Yeah, i updated him from 80 to 89, he was a mid 90 runner but has regressed a little.
