Re: Classic Teams - MLB 16

OK just had a terrific game in my first classic playoff game with the v 1.0 roster. In my ALDS series, I have my 2004 Red Sox up against the 1948 Indians. Pedro Martinez went 8 solid innings for the win.

The game was knotted 2-2 going into the 9th at Progressive Field. Trot Nixon snapped the deadlock drilling a ball into the right field seats and it proved to be the winning run as the Red Sox took the opener.

It was Nixon's second RBI of the game as he tied the game at 1-1 earlier with a base loaded sacrifice fly. Kevin Millar also was a huge factor in this game bouncing a solo homer off the left field foul pole, and made a key defensive play in the home half of the 8th. With runners on corners in a tie game and no one out. Millar fielded a sharp ground ball in the drawn in infield. He then made a perfect throw to cut down the Indians' Dale Mitchell at the plate. Highlights below.

This is outstanding work, much appreciated. The only problem I see is trying to decide who to player lock.

Finally got back to playing as I've been working on roster V 2.0. My '04 Red Sox took a 2-0 series lead on the strength of 4 homers in their game two win below. Kevin Millar is having a monster series with his second homer in as many games.

              <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Uxvm2_lSxPc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I also dipped my toe into the NLDS as the '54 Giants visited the '57 Braves. I lead the Braves to a Game 1 win with Hank Aaron and Wes Covington clubbing homers off John Antonelli in a romp. Another thing I noticed with the rosters here was that retired numbers still seem to be available in playoff mode. However, in order to get the numbers of certain players who are in the legends' category in the game, you have to put those players on the corresponding teams. When I get the chance, I'll re-release v 1.0 with the legends appropriately placed. I didn't see Hank Aaron in the legends list though and I still can't get him to wear #44. If anyone figures that out, let me know.

Hank Aaron needs to be named "Henry" --- you can use "Hank" for his audio.

Please don't take this as criticism but the 71 Bucs were my childhood team. Manny Sanguillen was the fastest running catcher in the 70s (nicknamed Road Runner by Pirate announcer Bob Prince) so I raised his speed from 49 to 74. Stargell's speed is I believe 75 so I lowered him to 50 I may go down to 46. This is a fun roster.

I have player-locked with Al Kaline for a season and I feel like I have superhuman powers now.

Correction Rob. There is a 1991 Twins roster with the 71 Bucs and season teams which needed that adjustment. Your 71 Bucs roster is right on. Still playing with 79 Pirates with last years set. Got a couple going and got confused.

I'll be bringing the '79 Pirates over to MLB 16 in v 3.0.

I have a question. I am an Astros fan and I was wondering why you were using the 2015 Astros for the second version. The 2005 Astros were our first pennant team. I understand it is easier to use the 2015 Astros since the roster isn't that different. I know the 2005 Astros lost the World Series, but they still made it whereas the 2015 team didn't make it. Just wondering. I am fine either way.
