I was not arguing with you. I was simply curious about the reasons for not going with all real equipment. I understand that we're limited by what equipment we can use. As I said, I'm looking forward to using these. Thanks again for all who created these.

Oh trust me, I cringe every time I see a MLB The SHOW Piece of Lumber in the batters box. I think we all agree, and hope for more options next year. So, by trying to create "realism" by adding real equipment to all that wear generic, we water down the roster to where everyone looks similar again, and also incorrect. At that point, why do the edits? I feel your pain brother, but we are just playing the hand dealt to us.

Hickory Bats, more models of Nike and UA shoes, Adidas batting gloves and compression sleeves, more options for batting glove colors (Main, Leather, Wrist, Knuckle doesn't always cut it...at least need "Logo" color), the ability to store more than 1 fielding glove type for guys who play say C/1B, ability to edit batting helmets/flaps, ability to add weathering/scratches to helmets.

Would be cool, but very low priority to store more than one bat type for guys who switch up colors and brands--imagine shattering a bat and getting a new one that was visually different before continuing the at bat.

And of course the elephant in the room is home/away gear.

Man, this is a really nice looking roster. I started playing a franchise with it and started looking around the league. I love the individuality that each player has w/r/t skill distribution and differentiation.

It looks and plays really smooth.

That was my initial thinking. However, as this progressed into what is now V2, we came to a consensus that "over branding" in itself takes us further away from the realism this roster is trying to achieve.

I don't understand why they have, for example, Mizuno cleats but not batting gloves. Same with All-Star catching gear but not catchers gloves.

I want to try this Hybrid roster bc I'm curious. I've always just used the OSFM minors. A couple questions, what's the reason for no closers?
Also, Kluber (from the Indians) is a sinker ball pitcher, so why is he made a fastball pitcher?
Are these only good for a single season?
I'm not knocking these or being disrespectful. I'm just curious to understand hybrid rosters.

Well I see the mlb closers, I ment there is no minors with a CP roll. I was just curious on that.

Yep, he was just overexaggerating (which is how rumors start...what do you mean there are no closers!?!?!?! 4-5 people then ask afterward) the fact that there aren't 3 closers per org. We've decided there's no need to have closers at the AA and AAA levels and let the AI go by highest rated.

As for the SNK vs 2SM, most people don't realize that they're actually the same pitch and thrown with the same grip. One announcer will call it a sinker and another [credible] announcer will call the same pitch a 2 seamer. There are only about a dozen no-doubt sinkers in the game (think Mike Leake) and the rest is all gray area based on movement. Essentially if there is significant lateral movement (more than like 9 in or so) and less significant sink (less than 3-4 in or so), pitches were classified as a 2-seamer. And vice versa. Sometimes we go with a 2 seamer over a sinker if there is extreme velocity as well (the sinker velocity only goes so high).

Aside from that, do you know how easy it would be to change one pitch to another pitch? Half the time it took to conceive and write a post on here.

Well I will just leave it as thank you for answering my questions. I am new to the hybrid rosters and was just trying to understand a few things as I love the pitch edits. I look forward to trying a hybrid roster.

(bowing) for over exaggerating (well more for leaving out "in the minors") about the closers. I was interested to learn and made that message at work on my phone. I will work harder to sincerely pre read my messages before sending them next time as to not over exaggerate in the future.
