Hello all!

I've been preparing for the initial testing phases of my model of MLB The Show's full minor roster set. I know that this forum already has a great one in OSFM but every year I make some adjustments and figured that this year I would do my best to share it with anybody in the community that wants to check it out!

I've been working on it since I took the first post-glitch roster base and began modifying it with the CAPs I thought were the best in the community. I have borrowed work from many users in the vaults, there really is a ton of great work out there in addition to OSFM, so I wanted to incorporate all of that that I could, and make plenty of my own CAPs and adjustments in the process!

I'll have some previews real soon, it's a crowded roster world out there and I hope to win your franchise over!!

Set Includes The Following Features

*Extensive equipment edits for every team, extending into many minor league clubs. Accurate branding throughout, improved color schemes on equipment for players without branding (New Balance/Adidas Shoes, batting gloves etc)

*Revamped attributes and potentials. Of course I used all the stats available on the interweb to aid my decision making (fangraphs, prospectus, live game action, podcasts, baseball america, bball ref) in an attempt to make this as cohesive a system as possible, and mimick real life as close as possible (Pedro Alvarez throwing power very high, throwing accuracy brutal....accurate split attributes judged by carefully balancing each player following a complete review of career splits broken down by each season. Potentials, in my opinion, more accurately reflect the aura around star prospects or more desirable talents, as opposed to those guys who you know are career minor leaguers

*All SCEA players are included on the roster, however I've taken the liberty of fine tuning their attributes and loading them up with the proper equipment of course. Players like Blaine Boyer and Matt Joyce will have the original audio (without the names typed in) but have updated faces. I've updated hundreds of faces from OSFM/SCEA/Player Vault/Roster Vault templates

*Accurate FAs with adjusted equipment and attributes. I tried to select the most fitting crop of Free Agents possible, and I have ensured that no prospects or current players on any team roster are in the free agent pool

*Authentic contracts, birthplace, ages (using July 1 as cut) jersey #s -- For everyone. In cases of team options, I've projected the most realistic future decision on an individual player basis. For example, you can bet Lucroy will have his team option contract year built in, while Ryan Howard's team option will NOT be included!!! LOL

What's good Tony? You know, I was thinking about looking into the 2016 thing, how do people do that? Is there a way to load those players into the draft? I remember Madden a while back when I played had that feature. If it's just putting them into the FA pools then I probably will not. I will definitely be making several adjustments after the draft!

You will have to edit/change the draft picks into the real players drafted. Or, you could make CAPS yourself for all of them individually & upload them to the vault for download. If you add them to your roster set by changing them yourself after the draft then people can just import the draft picks individually to their own roster set out of your roster file.

It really doesn't matter either way but some people prefer downloading individual CAPS to pick & choose the ones they want from the vault to add. I have always taken a roster made by someone else & just import all of the draft picks individually to the roster I already have going. Thanks!

Okay that is all good to know. Would be cool if you could set up the draft class before the draft takes place in franchise though.

I have seen some work on draft guys in the vault but I haven't downloaded any of it I'm not quite there yet. Not sure how far I'll go with it exactly, I really like the makeup of all the current players on my roster so I may just stick to the 1st Round. If there are other big impact stories then I'll take a look at them of course.

Who are a few of the draft prospects that you're most looking forward to using in the show Tony?

Like I said though, it you could provide the entire 1st round would be good enough for me. You can just wait until the players are actually drafted before creating them so you can place them on their appropriate teams. This way we could also just use your roster set with the draft picks already added instead of importing & exporting into other rosters.

Then again, the most popular rosters(OSFM, Hybrid, SBFM,etc.) will need to import your CAPS draft picks to add to their rosters so it might be better to upload them to the vault for download too. It doesn't matter though, because we can export & import your CAPS into our own roster sets from just your roster set alone.

Thanks for the good info Tony. The first round is as far as I'll go but that should be no problem considering I shouldn't have to start from "scratch".

I will not lie though, it's not my main concern but I definitely am interested in taking a look at it.

Oh for sure, I just meant like I don't know the guys at all, I can't see myself getting into it and doing extensive edits but maybe the draft will inspire me we'll see. Also need to find players to remove from each team then. A lot of times we're talking about inserting a very volatile raw player in for a player that is probably more polished. Should be fun to sort through and see who gets the boot or maybe hold off until they range closer to the AA level.

Just another thing I've found interesting along the way...I've added the Nike Swoosh symbol to every player's undershirt. In all of my referencing it was FAR more common for players to have it in real life than not have it, and it is far more common for players in the show to not have it than to have it. I did take special care on specific circumstances like Ryan Howard for example..I looked through years of attire and he never had a nike swoosh, not one time. But most players have it regularly or on a semi-regular basis I feel like, so I think it looks a little better but it's really only my preference!

You won't need to replace players if you edit the fake draft players into the draft picks or better yet import the draft pick CAPS over the fake players. There will be a bunch of draft pick CAPS available after the draft from the vault.

Plus, boomersooner4_ou has a 2016 draft picks CAP thread on here that you could download his CAPS from. He doesn't care a bit as long as you give him credit if you use his CAPS for your roster.

Hey all, sorry I've been away dealing with some work things. Thanks for the info Tony, I will almost certainly be using boomersooner's work. I have not seen it yet first hand but I've seen the postings in the vault and it looks like people really like the work. I am hoping to post a version, maybe even tonight, before the draft just in case people want to use a set without the new guys!
