    Ratings question

When making ratings for a player, does the contact rating refer to how often a player strikes out or his batting average?

Batting average, or perhaps more correctly H / (AB - K), i.e. batting average when the player doesn't walk or strike out.

The strikeouts are governed more by Vision and some by Discipline (Vision, make contact more. Discipline, check swing success, avoiding chasing).

Contact plays some role as well (PCI placement) but that's not it's "pure" function (Vision can let a player make contact without the best PCI placement or cause a miss even with decent PCI placement).
