Injured players - DL and service time

Ok finally about ready to start my franchise for the year. So I was wondering, do players that are on the DL for the whole year get their service time? Like Carter Capps for example, when I start, should I add him to the MLB roster and then manually injure him and put him on the DL? I know he would get his service time in the game but is that how it works in real life? Is there anywhere to get a list of players that started the year on the DL? Any help would be appreciated

In real life yes an injured player on the Major League DL will earn their service time while they're on the DL. I believe it works the same way in The Show but I'm not 99% sure about that so don't quote me on it and I've found this thread to be a very helpful resource for Opening Day injuries and whatnot
