    Real contracts vs default

My apologies if such a topic already exists, but I was wondering if anyone using single team control is using real contract salaries? Has this negatively impacted franchise?

I'm in process of restarting my franchise but I'm unsure if I should use default vs real when using single team control

There are really two camps on the idea of real vs default contracts. You can probably search and find most of them. I would but I am on my phone right now and just can't.

From my tests this year, if you use real contracts, all teams have a seriously bloated available money to spend. Simming 3 years out with the Nationals I had a budget of over 190 million with 97 million available to spend in year 3. I signed every player on my roster including Harper to a 9 year deal and had money left over to sign Mochado and Harvery.

Another down side is with small market teams. In year 3 of my sim the Padres, Reds, Brewers and A's all had budgets over 120 million and around 30/40 million in free money to spend.

For me this is even more un realistic than using default contracts and money. I also do not use 30 team control.

This is of course my opinion and experience only. I know I am in the minority but I have just gotten tired of waiting for rosters and updates, etc. I ran with default rosters at default setting with DD and I just finished my first year of my Nationals franchise.
