Change Player Position

In the live roster, Jose Ramirez is:
Primary Position 3B
Secondary Position 2B, SS, LF

Is there a way I can make him that way on my roster? Right now I have him as a Primary LF, and secondary IF currently.

This is as good as it gets with the current editable setup

No way to edit him now. I have him as LF with secondary IF even though he doesn't play 1B. Or do 3B with 2B/SS since he's really only in LF because Brantley is hurt.

Ok thanks guys. Since Brantley isn't injured in my franchise, I may just make him an infielder. I have more then enough outfielders to cover

I would make him a 3B that way u can use the backup 2B/SS and if and when u need him in LEFT just edit him before game then.

This is one reason why I (lots of other people too I'm sure) want more options for the secondary position.. even if they put 9 slots and I can just pick what positions instead of being limited to IF when lots of them play only 3 IF positions or limited utility positions like corners (1B/3B and LF/RF).. heck even some catchers like Russell Martin plays 2B/3B when needed and that's not doable.

What I think they should have is when you go to positions a separate box opens up like a medium size square box with all the positions listed and you just check each position like multiple choice for the positions u want the player to have.

Yeah that would work. Makes the custom rosters easier to play with

If I change Wilson Contreras to primary from Primary C and Secondary LF, to Primary LF and Secondary C/1B his blocking attribute disappears.

Does he still lose the ability to have that catcher specific rating, or does the game just not show it the attributes, like it's possibly hidden?

Yeah, he can still play catcher but the rating is just hidden.

You are right. It is still there. I changed Contreras as stated, saved him. Then went to the Edit player menu and looked at his attributes and the blocking rating is there. Works for me!

Padres are now planning to use Christian Bethancourt as a reliever/catcher/infielder next year. Travis Wood played some outfield for the Cubs this year. Madison Bumgarner played as a DH. If Shohei Otani gets posted, he will see ABs as an OF or DH. I really wish The Show allowed us to use these guys in their real-life roles.
