The game is incredible as usual but I'll be damned if the Sony team isn't the worst in the business At roster creation.

It's not really their fault though it's a licensing thing, which they really need to look at and fix, I hate that players go missing from the game just because they missed an entire year or only pitched 1 innings in 2016, yet someone who didn't pitch the entire year would make the game.

It's gotta be changed so that if you have played in the MLB EVER and are registered as a player your allowed to be in the game, not just from the previous year,

It's an MLB and MLBPA rule. Nothing SCEA can do to fix it unfortunately.

I have started my franchise got these guys in it but obviously their just generic faces, I am hopeless at making faces, and we wont see a SCEA update till mid April with these guys in it

I created a pretty decent Barrett Astin CAP in 16. I'd just need to transfer him over and edit then somebody can give him service.

actually he doesn't need service time according to Baseball reference.

I still have 16 installed I will have a look at your roster from 16 and video the face form there.

Huge shout out to PhilliesFan13. He's been a huge help this past weekend. The following players have been confirmed in or out.

Unless some of the guys are added with the launch day roster update the list is even bigger than originally thought. Some of these guys were added in weekly roster updates in 16.

so if I take someone like paul janish and start a season in 16, then carry it over to 17
janish will be gone from my season in Show 17 but the fake player he is replaced with can be exported and that fake player will have janish service time and stats but just wont have the janish name or look but those can be edited back to have the janish name and made to look like him as much as I can do so? is that also like jose fernandez is and big papi?

Janish has the "white guy glitch" when you continue a carryover franchise. He cannot be edited. Same goes with guys like Chris Narveson, Kevin Jepsen, Brian Matusz, Richie Shaffer etc......... They all had to be created from scratch in 17 for OSFM.

I've run into quite a few issues. Some guys don't transfer over when you export them out of a franchise.

So far Christian Walker, Joey Terdoslavich, Henry Urrutia, Chris Dominguez, Jonathan Diaz,
Ryan Brett, Tony Sanchez, and Ryan Lavarnway all lose their career stats when exported out of a franchise and put into a roster a file.

Hmmm I think Henry Urrutia worked fine for me I will have to have a second look at that.

Greg Holland worked fine too another one. It's fun trying to find the fake players to export isn't it ? I found to everytime you re start your franchise the generic player name changes. usually you can sort by service time and their pretty easier to find that way to spot them.

I figured out the problem. The same glitch that was in 16 is now in 17. You have to be careful of the fake guys you import over. They zero out stats for guys.

is there a way to know which guys you can import over? I got urrutia and christian walker to carry over but i cant figure out allen craig.

Importing over most Devs and most legends will allow players to keep stats. Keep in mind though it doesn't work with all Devs and all legends.

I wasn't sure where else to post this but is there hope that SCEA will update Chris Marrero in the next live update to give him his stats because my Marrero hasn't no career stats even though I know he has some

I avoided this problem by first importing a created minor leaguer with no career stats over the guy you're replacing first. Then import the player you want.

I tried to import Dusty Coleman with correct stats over Coleman in the OSFM roster and his stats still didn't show. Then I imported another player first, then replaced him with Coleman and it showed his stats.

I tried it with a few others and that seems to work.
