He has a lot of work to do as a player, and that is accurately captured with his low contact, vision, and discipline numbers. However his power, is undeniable.

He hit the hardest recorded ball via Statcast this season at 116.5 MPH. Since his MLB debut only Nelson Cruz averages a higher exit velocity off batted balls in all of the MLB.

    You cannot teach that.....he's stronger....than almost anyone....anywhere.

Let that not be confused with better.
Which is why even with boosting his power numbers he is still rated in the 70s, which is a C rating based off of his A potential.

His power is AT LEAST an 85.

I agree. I wasn't suggesting that he should hit as many homers as Chris Carter, but in terms of power ratings he should have similar power rating, unless the only attribute that determines number of HRs is power. So far in my season, despite his awesome power, Carter has yet to hit a HR. But he has not had that many at bats.

Contact and plate vision have a lot to do with it. Power is only valuable if you can square the ball up.

If vision and contact are relatively low, you will have trouble hitting the ball period, let alone out of the ball park.

So I think boosting his power to the 80s still works because he has low contact numbers. But if someone hangs a pitch, watch out.

yup, he will struggle with breaking stuff, but anything in the zone he will crush. in my first franchise season so far in 300 at bats hes had 16 hrs 47 rbis and an avg of .237 with 130 ks....

          sounds pretty realistic

Hey what are your homerun totals for the rest of the players individually? I'm curious because in my season im 55 games in and my homeruns look like this

            Chris Carter 7
            Aaron Judge 7
            Brett Gardner 6
            Greg Bird 6
            Gary Sanchez 6
            Jacoby Ellsbury 5
            Matt Holiday 3
            Starlin Castro 3
            Didi Gregorious 2
            Ronald Torreyes 1

I dont understand why im hitting so many homers with Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury

5 HRs thru 55 games is .09 HRs per game. In a 162 game season that's only 14-16 HRs. Sounds about right for Gardner and Ellsbury.

If anything you aren't hitting enough HRs with Carter and Judge. But then again idk how often you are playing them.

What hitting difficulty are you playing?

What are your power sliders set at?

with mlb 16 i used normal sliders and veteran difficulty. but when i used the same for mlb 17 the batting was waayyy to easy. so i went up to all star and man the difference is huge. i i lost 2 games back to back where i only had 3 hits and no runs. so tweaked the sliders. now Contact is at about 65, POWER is at 70, foul freq is at 65, and sold hits at 65 and the rest are the same.
i think ive found the right balance.

Bro I can't get the right sliders it's either no 7 homerun a game or I tweak a lil and all I get is all singles. I've played 6 games in my franchise only 2 doubles. Help me out.

I'm assuming you're playing on all star difficulty. The pitchers are very clever when it comes to all star. Alot of nibbling the corners. What I did was kept the power around 65, and keep contact low. This way if you sit on a good pitch you know it's outta there. Keeping contact and solid hit lower than power reduces doubles, at least for me. Increase your foul frequency if you're having trouble recognizing pitches. Gives you a chance to catch a good pitch

I recommend you just tweak the contact to about 60, power 65 and solid hits 60. Keep the rest the same. Then play some games, tweak as needed, but only one move at a time. That's how I found my sweet spot. I just played red Sox, and torched E Rodriguez for 6 runs, two games later facing sale I was nearly shutout, it was frustrating. This tells me I found the spot. I can dominate 4th 5th starters, but the aces dominate and I really have to work for it.

If you find hitting difficult with these sliders just increase the timing. Keep tweaking that one before you touch the others.
