Uh, speed isn't based on triples. Nor should it be.

You can read back through the thread to read up on what the approach here is.

74 for Castellanos seems perfectly fine anyhow.

Was reading through this thread and was just curious if anybody has tested the speed ratings in the game. By this I mean, has anyone actually timed a player from home to first at various rating levels to determine what the correlations are?

This would be kind of tough, but might be doable. It might give some better insight into exactly how to rate these guys given the fact that you have actual sprint numbers to work from.

So if I'm reading your spreadsheet correctly...the show rating (blue coloum) is the rating the players should have? That's the rating i should update the players to? Thanks.

That's correct, the blue column it's their Sprint Speed converted to the 1-99 The Show Scale

Not topic related:

Here a quick comparison showing the ERA and SLUG drop off of Japanese players when they move to the MLB and with the examples i used i concluded that SP tend to have their ERA rise 1.05 in their transition and hitters SLUG drops 107 points, I'll continue with other stats later. I used that same model to guess Otani's ERA and Slug in the MLB and a quick comparison of the 3 players closest to the result.
