Does anyone roll with default or current rosters for franchise?

Just wondering if anyone does this, and what the results are? I like OSFM, but I'm not as much a stickler for realism as I used to be.

In my main franchise (Cards) I will wait for OFSM, but I am doing a mariners franchise that uses someones roster that had the top 15 prospects imported and am just fine with that.

I may roll with default this year, or see if I can find anything with some prospects or something added tonight.

Every year I wait for the sites rosters, then I play a few games and they release a new set so I start over. I never finish a season because I always need to newest rosters. This year I just want to play and try to get through one while I'm still excited about the game and the baseball season.

in season mode, the default rosters are more than okay by me.
but for franchise mode OSFM is where its at.
I play season mode multiple times during the year, each time with a new team.
my seasons are usually one and done though if there is a team I have grown particulary fond of (last year it was the Orioles) I will just continue into the next year and play the following season.

heck last year I played the orioles season without benefit of Dylan Bundy, Hyun soo Kim, Pedro Alvarez, Joey Rickard among one or two more and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
some of the rosters I use, I am OCD crazy and everything has to be just so, but then there are sometimes where all that matters is the baseball that is to be played and the names on the back of the jersey can take a back seat.

I've never finished a season, so no point in waiting for all of the prospects who are years away.

I agree, and you're right about always starting over when they release updated osfm rosters, I'm the same way.......before u know it it's august and you've gotten nowhere lol

I always go with default, do the movements myself and add in new SCEA players along with importing players from other roster sets to fill the teams up.

There is a 700+ prospects one out right now that is good enough for me to start. Its even got tebow on the mets single A. Lol. Im rolling with it and starting my franchise. I love osfm but every year i start a franchise then restart when osfm comes out and end up never finishing more than a season or two playing one game a series so majority of the top prospects arent even in the majors when im done. Im sure it depends on who you play with and how much realism you want but for me and my mets i only need the top 3 prospects we got to satisfy my game... plus im 31 now and not in my early 20s and dont have free time like i use to to dedicate to the realism of osfm rosters anymore. But i will always be grateful for their work and everyone who contributes, because hands down the best rosters for any sports game for the last decade for me.

yeah, I really wish there were a third mode, a hybrid of season and franchise where instead of 40 man rosters, you have 50 man rosters and can play all Triple A games. as it stands, I play one franchise and a lot of seaso moden, one and done.

After the first time I used OSFM, I could never go back. I would wait until the All Star Break if that's what it took.

I normally wait till version 1 comes out so I can play with realism. I like to have real names for my minor league since I followed them to in real life

I roll with default. It adds a little more mystery to who is going to develop and to be honest I rarely agree with some of the ratings that these osfm rosters get for some guys. If a generic player gets called up and starts doing good I edit his appearance to give him some individuality.
