After simming about 20 years the stars became the alomars, kenny lofton, Griffey and bagwell and of course smoltz, glavine and Maddux comes out really good still have some work to do on it but it's gonna be a good one

when did those guys begin to enter their peak years ? I am guessing i the 2023 schedule (1993 season for guy's career progression/service time). Post some screenshots if you want too, as it will further wet out appetites. Did you know that you are brilliant, btw (no homo) ?

First off, want to thank jemyers1975 for a great roster set. 1987 was my favorite baseball season growing up.

This set inspired me to make my own 25 man rosters on MLB 13 back in the summer of 2013. Only bad thing was I had the expansion teams filled with generic players and it really screwed up the stats when playing in season mode.

I ordered Neyers/James pitchers book and created my own pitching edits. I thought they came out great and I added them to this roster back for MLB 15. I thought I would do it again for MLB 17. It is in the vault under 1987 full 90 man MBMavs pitch edits.

Just a few of the changes that I made are as follows:

I went strictly by the book so guys like Mike Boddicker, Mike Flanagan, Bert Blyleven, etc.. have Curveball listed as pitch #1 instead of a 4 Seam fastball. Gave Tommy John and Dan Quisenberry Sinkers as their 1st pitch. Lowered some fastball MPH's because Mike Witt has a 96MPH fastball and 82 MPH change and he was impossible to hit. Also gave him a 12-6 Curve as 1st pitch. Lowered Goose Gossage fastball from 97 to 92 because by 1987 he lost a little bit off his fastball.

Gave Charlie Hough and Phil Niekro Knuckballs as 1st pitch. Most of the edits were spot on. Gave Nolan Ryan a 12-6 Curve instead of a regular Curve.

Thought some of the stamina ratings were a little high or low depending on the pitcher. Some relievers having stamina ratings in the 60's and 70's I thought were a bit too high although relief pitchers did pitch more back then then they do today.

How did you figure out stamina ratings Jemyers1975?

Lol thanks and yeah about 2023 or so is when I seen people like alomar, bagwell ect start hitting their peaks

Sorry for the delay in the response but I want to thank you for doing that it was a huge help. As far as stamina ratings go I just use the RBU roster tool I believe it’s called it’s an amazing spread sheet. I also put a newer version out in the vault where Miami and Arizona ect has real players on their teams. I’m ready for 2018 to come out as far as importing each and every player I probably won’t have time for that this year so if anyone wants to volunteer to import them over that would be sweet and I can go through setting up the 40 man roster ect

After the last few post a bit confused over what is the definitive version of this roster. And the show vault is a nightmare for finding rosters. Is there really no search feature by typing the name or a creator?

You can sort on the Creator column which then makes it fairly easy to get to a particular creators uploads ......... sorting or searching by roster name is not available.

Which is a shame especially for the Player vault being unable to sort by Player Name.

So awesome. 1987 was the year I got into collecting baseball cards, so this takes me right back. Having fun with franchise mode and fantasy draft! My only complaint is I found way too many late steals on elite prospects. Even Griffey Jr I got after round 15 I think. Obviously that has nothing to do with the rosters but rather the auto draft order within the game itself.

Random question but how/why did you decide that Mike Gallego should only be given an 8 for bunting skill. I mean it's bunting, it's really not that hard. I'm pretty sure a player of that variety (high contact, 2B man) could get one down if he needed to.


Other than that I'm really enjoying this slider set. Thanks to all who contributed.

Good eye that’s a mess up which is my fault probably what happened was a couple years ago I redone the attributes as some of them changed. But you’re right in 1987 he was 5/7 if sacs versus attempts 71% success rate and in 1990 he lead the league In sacs. I’ll check and get my ratings out and change it and I’ll change any more people I may have missed thank you for the catch.
