What Rosters Should I Use for a One Team Control Franchise?

I'm relatively new to MLB The Show, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out and tell me what roster I should be using for a Franchise in TS17 if I only want to control one team. I know that Sony's rosters don't have real prospects, so I want to use a version of OSFM or something similar. At first I assumed that the official OSFM V1.5 would be exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't think that's the case because I realized that because I don't want to control all 30 teams, players that are injured in real life will be in the minors all year for the CPU teams. So should I be looking for one of the 40 man versions of OSFM? And also would it be best to use a roster that has contract values reset to default? I'm not sure what the appeal of that is, but I've seen some rosters that claim to have done that, could anyone tell me what the point of that is? I assume the regular OSFM has real contract values?

I have the same question. I was planning on OSFM but also haven't really decided if I want to do 30 team control or not. I don't know enough about the benefits of that set up to know if I want to do it that way.

Also now wondering about contracts and what is best if I want a realistic sim into the 2020s.

Link above is the best roster/resource I've found so far.

That seems to be the best roster to me as well. I don't know why real life contract values would be a bad thing, but I'm just taking people's word for it considering the people making rosters around here know much more about the game than me.

Well the budgets in the game aren't realistic either. I don't know why they can't use real contracts and real budgets... that information is all out there for the public.

But I guess the contracts in the game are tailored to fit into the budgetary constraints of the game. I've read one comment that "real" rosters cause teams to do unrealistic things when you get into year two and beyond. They might also affect the morale system in a strange way.

Yeah they definitely can affect the morale system. But even with default salaries the morale in regards to contracts is pretty screwed up. Young good players that are still on cheap deals are always unreasonably pissed off about it. I don't know why SDS even has salary as a factor in morale, at the end of the day the players still agreed to sign their contracts.
