I downloaded these rosters last night and played a bunch of games with AL teams. You have done an outstanding job with these. All of the players are very well done, the teams are structured realistically, and the players are realistic looking with accurate equipment, etc. I am very impressed!
I recognized a bunch of players from your previous rosters in past years, so happy to see that!
I even played a few AAA games and even at that level, the players are unique and very well done!
If the NL is completed with the same level of detail as the AL, you will easily have the best roster out (IMO)! I cannot wait until these are done.
The hardest part for me now is:
1. Which team should I use for my franchise?
2. Should I do Fantasy Draft prior to starting my franchise?

Can't wait to see the Phillies team.

For the first question, it all depends on what you're looking for in a team I suppose. I can't tell you about the NL because I'm not as well versed with those teams (I play as the A's and mostly face AL foes). On the AL side, however, the two best teams are Cleveland and Texas. Kansas City is a close 3rd if I remember correctly. Texas is the more complete team, with a better farm system and higher salary cap.

If you're looking for rebuilding teams, I think New York would be an interesting choice. They're teetering on the line between contender and seller. They have young talent with premier prospects only a season or two out. Dweller teams like Tampa Bay, Minnesota, and even Oakland are for the die-hard players who are willing to scrape and claw to contend.

For the second question, as I've stated a few times before, I would recommend not using fantasy draft with this roster for two reasons: 1. I personally hate fantasy draft and it screws with the balance of the rosters. 2. I specifically designed and structured every team to resemble their real life counter parts. Equipment edits might not look as great when players are placed on different teams. But with all that said, once you download the roster, it is your's to use however you see fit.

I think you'll like the Phillies team. I know I do. They're a middle of the pack type team but could easily contend with some scheduling luck.

Now, for those of you who've downloaded the file, I would like some beta testers of sorts. I haven't had the time to go through a franchise and see how the lack of playing time affects their salaries as they hit arbitration and all those other rules. If some of you could do that for me and give a run down on any issues, that would be great. Thanks.

Yeah, I agree. I am going to keep the rosters as you have them, they are really structured well.
Any idea on when we will see the full roster?

I'm currently in the heart of finals so it won't be until next week that I can actually get started on the next half. Then once I do get started, you can expect the same amount of time spent on the NL as the AL...plus any errors/fixes that either you all see or I come across.

I can safely say it will be done in the month of June, but can't pinpoint a certain date, yet.

I appreciate the help but it wouldn't really do much. I already have the teams set from the last game; I just have to transfer them from my franchise file to the roster file. I only edit faces/bodies and equipment after they are placed in the roster.

Great job on these Justmunc. Had fun with your rosters in past years but this one looks like the best yet. I've played a few test franchise games and the biggest compliment I can give them is that the play realistically with near default sliders. Fictional? I think Cameron Merchant is my favourite baseball player of all time!

Currently, I'm working on the NL Central. I finished up the East last week and I'm halfway done with the Central, so I'm still on track to finish sometime next month (June). Once I get done with the entire NL, I will go through one more go-through of the entire roster to make sure everything is exactly the way I want it.

I've been using your MLB 16 roster as a carry over save in 17. I simmed to the Post Season to see how it turned out. It's playing better than ever! However you might want to have a look at the morale system on 17. Most of your guys have rookie contract expection and when given their real life contract receive a significant ratings boost. By the end of the season I'm seeing guys who overall has improved by up to 10 points. Relief pitchers in particular. I'm not complaining as this is something built into the game and I've given up trying to work around it. Just thought I would let you know while you are in roster building mode.

Yes, this was a problem that I feared when making this roster. I contemplated adding service time to each MLB player but I'm not very well-versed in doing so. My thinking is that after a few years, when players get past the 3 to 4 year playing service mark, things will start to come together. With that said, I haven't gone very far to test if this would be the case. What I did to balance out morale boosting was give them all fairly realistic potential rating. Even in the AL only roster I sent out, you can see a lot of inflation when compared to their overalls, but like I said, I expect these boosts to balance out as time goes on.

p.s. I'm closing in on a date to be finished. I'm thinking no later then the end of next week.

I've been digging for a while for a decent fictional roster and people referred me to you. As someone who creates former MLB players and puts them in the game I can't imagine doing an entire roster 30 times. Can't wait to see the finished product
