Can't edit jersey number to 42

so already in a franchise, with older rosters. I checked the Os jersey numbers, I made the trade for Asher to Baltimore so he is in their BP but I wanna give him Jersey Number 42. but it isn't a option it skips over 42. you just get 41 and 43, I checked every single player on the Os roster but no one wears 42.

Never had this issue before. anyone know what it is?

Well according to roster resources Alec Asher is wearing number 42........ but I just had another look it should be 49....

No I have not edited a players jersey to 42 before. I forgot about the retired number but also didn't know the game actually locked it as well. my brain wasn't thinking number 42 it was thinking why can't I change the number it didn't even click to me feel like a idiot now

the weird thing is there are actually a few minor leaguers with 42 in the Show this year.
I dont recall that being the case before.
On the Orioles for instance fake reliever Christopher Knott has 42

            also Asher should be 51

51?? wow that is 3 different sources now that's given 3 different numbers LOL normally roster resources are accurate.

so how would someone create Mariano Rivera?? when you can't use 42 or Jackie Robinson himself.

The retired numbers logic built into the game knows whose number is retired for each team. If you were to create a player and name him Jackie Robinson, 42 will be available...this works for every MLB team...another example: one of the retired numbers on my favorite team, the Brewers, retired the number 4 for the great Paul Molitor. If you make a CAP and name him Paul Molitor and put him on the Brewers, he wears number 4. If anyone else is on the Brewers, they cannot wear 4.

This should work for Rivera as well...assuming that his #42 was retired by the Yankees.
BFR's future is still TBD, stay tuned for updates

That's because 42 isn't retired throughout the Minors. Only a few teams are honoring that.

I think Asher was called up on Jackie Robinson day when all players were listed as 42. Roster Resource probably just made that his number and forgot to change it.

FYI check out MLB Jersey Numbers on Twitter. They do a good job of posting new callups and traded players numbers.

but heres the thing once you change the orioles guy thats in the minors from 42 to another number, you cant change him back to 42. and you cant change anyone else in the orioles to 42. weird

Every now and then does your player in Road to the Show get changed to # 42 ? My does. Every so often. Goes back next game. Odd as hell.

Is it Jackie Robinson day when everyone is wearing #42?
