Really excited for this years roster. I wasn't sure about it at first but it's my favorite way to run a franchise now. No more restarting because of things I feel are unrealistic

I appreciate it. I'm still just putting in all the work to complete the roster at this point...definitely going to meet my goal of April 12 if not earlier.Comment

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
A few quick, kinda minor notes about this year's roster.
- I'm heavily utilizing TC3 for all teams but Arizona to expand equipment options for home/road.
- The 40-man rosters are filled with only players I made and then more prospects are scattered
- All A potential prospects begin in A-ball
- I'm planning on releasing a second version (and probably a third) later on in the baseball season.
- I created over 1,800 total players represented on this year's version.
- The Miami Marlins will have most players heavily using TC2 (baby blue) on their cleats and other equipment.
- All developers/youtubers are still available in the Free Agent pool.
- There are no "New Pitcher" or "New Fielder" players on rosters or the Free Agent pool.

Armor & Sword took the reigns on adding in more movie characters when I released the roster on MLB17. Maybe he's interested in expanding upon that...however, I will not.Comment

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
I'm so glad I found this thread. I have had trouble figuring out who I want to start a Franchise with in 19, and I am excited to give this a shot. In fact, I went back and read all 45 pages to find out the back story for your rosters. I am really excited to give these a shot! I've always been a real roster player, but this year I want to try something different. Thanks for all of your hard work!.. oh well, maybe next year..

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
Bacon, out of interest the players that you made did you formulate your own ratings? For the first time I have been giving your 18 set a really good play test and have found they certainly do play a unique brand of baseball. Played 4 games last night in my test franchise of my slightly improved Red Sox if that is an indication of how much I’m enjoying the change!
I did create all ratings from scratch. I mostly tried to mimic what the MLB was when I began watching in the early 2000's so I obviously wouldn't call it "old school" but it is from the era before the "three true outcomes" era that we're currently in and have been in for a few seasons now.
In the beginning of player creation, the ratings were somewhat random and all kinds of types but then I needed to create players to fill a niche like lefty mashers or defensive specialists. I would be laying in bed and think of a certain type of player I could create so I would write down some notes about what he would excel at before jumping on The Show to create but then I would also just play around and slide attributes left and right until it felt good. There are players scattered around with certain skills that others aren't as good at which is meant to mimic how players in the minor leagues in real life may be better at certain skills than big leaguers but the MLB players are better overall.
Lastly, if you want to adjust the way the game plays, sliders are useful to manipulate how the CPU plays you back so I HIGHLY recommenced getting familiar with how all these work so you can make in game adjustments.

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
Thanks Bacon, I’m even more impressed with the Roster now! I’m loving the way it plays with sliders near Default. The ratings have my base runners more alive, fielders more prone to errors, left/right splits that actually matter and pitching repertoires with never ending variety. Great work!
Left/Right splits were one of the biggest issues I had (and still have) with any SDS roster. This helps create value for certain bench players over others who have similar overalls.Comment

Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster
I have decided that I'll upload 3 variations of the roster and I'll provide details of all below.
When they are uploaded to the roster vault, they will all be titled similarly and uploaded from my PSN: cwebs96.
1) "Bacon's Fictional Roster 2019"
This will be the most similar to previous iterations. No "New Fielder" or "New Pitcher" filler players in the league.
2) "Bacon's Fictional Roster with All Stars"
Same as the roster above but it will include all of the 2018 MLB All Stars on two of the legend teams (Mid-Century Groundbreakers and Long Ball Beasts)
3) "Bacon's Fictional Roster WIP"
This roster will be the most similar to the last roster I released on MLB18. There will be tons of "New Pitcher" and "New Fielder" players so the only players on this roster are players I created.
