    Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster

I'm using the 2019 version of these rosters and they are awesome. I am however having a problem throwing out runners stealing 2nd. My catcher has high 80's in both arm strength and accuracy and even on a perfect throw the baserunners are safe by a mile everytime. Anyone else experiencing this?

There's no need to try to replicate my uniforms...that was moreso for my own reference but I'll still post pics of mine soon. I've been working on other things lately so I haven't been checking here too much.

I'll make a post once I put them all in a folder in my arena.

        Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster

I've been using these rosters since the 17 iteration. I don't think I'd be able to play the game if not for them. There's so much realism and little details missing from the franchise mode that hurt immersion and it's sad. But I love these rosters and have been running carry over saves of a franchise for years. I know I'm missing a lot of new players from the new updated versions of the game but it's been fun so I'm not complaining.

Do these rosters progress linearly from year to year?

Ie. When you release the rosters for MLB The Show 21, will everyone be a year older and ratings adjusted, etc ?

No. I don't have time for that. The roster is "frozen in time"

Can anyone tell me the difference between bacons 2019 and 2020 rosters. I have a carryover franchise that I'm pretty attached to using his 2019 rosters, but for some reason I'm wanting to start over with the new rosters. Trying to decide if it's worth it

I haven’t done much of a comparison between the two rosters but it feels like there’s more minor leaguers this year than last I could be wrong tho

If you're tied to a franchise, then keep at that one. No sense in starting a new one just for a few new players.

I asked this before but wasn't given an answer.Would it be better to start a franchise using these rosters as is meaning no fantasy draft to switch up players or is each roster evened out to the point where leaving each roster as is would be the right way to go?

He built the roster to be pretty even. Obviously there are teams that are really stacked compared to other but all in all, they’re good to go from day one

I thought I answered this before but maybe not...

I think it's really even with how the teams are already. Each team his their own strengths and weaknesses so you can find something you like by default. However, I won't talk anyone out of doing a fantasy draft. I really honestly think it plays well both ways.

                          ---

This is probably also a good spot to say I'm currently working on creating more separation in good minor league systems compared to bad ones for MLB21. It may still be subtle like this year but there will be a bigger difference than this year's version.

There are definitely strong and weak teams...but you really have to dig deeper to see who they are.

Example: I'm using Atlanta. You look at the roster, and they look really good.

                            Dig deeper...
                            - You have 2 good starting pitchers, one guy with very iffy control but good upside, and 2 bottom feeders.
                            - All your good offensive players are old (except for one guy who is a speed CF and a RF who can't stay healthy)
                            - You have a crap farm system with two A prospects and virtually nothing else of value (with an 'A' SP who will be a bullpen guy and an 'A' SP who is better off being an OF).

This team is a veteran team (that probably won some titles) that is on its last legs and you will have to make tough decisions quickly. Chances are...I'll be rebuilding everything after this season (like the way the Astros had to...like torn down completely) before we can compete again. If I get lucky, MAYBE I can eke out a playoff run in year 1.

I say all that to say this...these teams HAVE stories. Look them over...I think you will definitely see the artistry here.

Casey Robinson...one of the best all around utility defensive players on Bacons 20 roster.
