Not planning on getting the game and I'm not sure where WTNY currently stands, but I wouldn’t plan on any new roster.

Ha! I didn't file the paperwork yet but a spring and summer without roster editing invading half my thoughts is too enticing.

If you guys really aren’t creating these rosters for 2018 then I have some decisions to make:

          1. Carry over my Braves Franchise and be content with a CAP Ronald Acuna?

          2. Keep playing 2017 and hope they add expansion in 2019?

          3. Make my own rosters?

          Hmmm...

I think #1 is your best option but #2 is also a good option too. #3 I wouldn't suggest unless you have created your own rosters before. OSFM V1 by Ridin will be out around Opening Day so if you choose option #3 then instead of making your own just use OSFM rosters.

I am definitely not using the OSFM. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great start, but I don’t like they way SECA rates the players.

The Realism roster was the only roster than played well on basically default sliders. I attribute much of that to the clutch ratings and pitcher ratings.

I am of the opinion that the game is best tuned by player rating edits and not sliders. Hopefully a roster will come out that it similar to the realism rosters.

Dude, you are misunderstanding me. I was saying that if you're not experienced at making rosters for MLB The Show then making your own roster can really be a pain. I wasn't saying that everybody should avoid creating rosters for the game. I also agree that this Realism roster was/is the best of them all created.

Unless somebody else or another group of guys/members on here do a roster project then we're stuck with OSFM or using SCEA's roster updates or we also have Houston's rosters on here but they are a very detailed roster set & it takes him months to finish them. That's even if he is going to do them this year. OSFM are fine rosters.

I do understand the ratings thing but someone almost always comes in behind the OSFM release & does a re-rated roster at some point. Thanks.

Definitely bummed if this roster doesn't make an appearance in 18. Playing offline with this rosters was an absolute thing of beauty. The game played so much better, I still get impressed the more I play with it.

Sad to hear they aren't coming back, but I definitely wanted to make it known your guys' work made 17 playable for me. Thank you! 👏

Yeah I'm 100% out. Not getting the game. Nothing new in franchise + removal of online franchise and season mode (the latter without any type of heads up, lol).

                There's always next year....

On the bright side, I get to go outside this spring and summer.

From the early buzz it doesn't appear worth it to buy MLB 18 this year. Not that it won't be good, but it takes a lot of improvements to make it worth it. Without an update to this MLB 17 roster for 18, would my best bet be to just make as many of the major trades as I could, and maybe create a couple key new players? I really want a fairly current roster to continue playing The Show 17 with this year. Is there a better option?

The option you choose totally depends on what effort you are willing to invest. Some people will probably just take our roster from last year and do some of the major transactions. The problem, then, is there might be some "holes" on certain teams, so you'd have to fill them with other players that you create or grab from the vault.

Some others will basically want the whole 9 yards, where everything is updated and the best version of every player is included, which they'll quickly find takes several months to do!

It's certainly a solvable problem, but it depends on what you are willing to live with in your final product.

Outside is nice. Spent last summer playing with my kids enjoying our backyard.

What is this backyard? Is this something you can eat? Please forgive me, but I am new to sunlight at this time of the roster-making season...

Maybe we just need to spreadsheet the ratings and put them into 2018. That sounds like the best case scenario to me at this point.

Oh, I know it can't be "quickly" replicated. But we can start a franchise in 2017, continue it on 2018, export all of the non-SECA players out and put them onto a roster in 2018 and then bring over all the the ratings, pitch edits, equipments, all of that stuff into that roster, and then update all of the transactions. A huge amount of work, but considering WTNY isn't planning to do anything for 2018, might be our best plan of action.

I would personally be willing to help out on that kind of project.

The best thing to do would be to update the 2017 Realism Roster's transactions to match the reality of 2018, start a franchise and then continue it in 2018, export all of those non-SECA players and then import them onto the 2018 live roster or OSFM roster and copy all of the SECA player equipment/pitch edits/ratings.
