Honestly I don't know why so many people are going at each others throats in this thread. We're all members of the OSFM roster community who uses these rosters and love doing so. I'd say that's enough common ground for us to be more respectful to each other. If someone asks a dumb question, don't answer. If someone asks a question you don't find important, hey maybe they do find it important.

Trust me it doesn't cost any energy whatsoever to be respectful to eachother and not get this thread locked before release

To me, the oddity is: on the one hand, people want the rosters ASAP. But, on the other hand, they just can't help but ask like 5 billion little questions that end up being mostly unimportant and this just distracts the roster makers from the task at hand.

As someone who makes rosters myself, this behavior has never made any sense to me although I mainly chalk it up to excitement and people not really thinking things through before clicking "post." Is your question really that important and something you need an answer to right now? I wish people would think in these terms sometimes. This thread would not be nearly 700 posts long!

Think of it this way, all the time Ridin and ShowTyme have to spend in here managing you guys is that much less time spent on polishing off this roster and that many hours longer you will have to wait.

Just popping in to say props to all involved in the OSFM roster-making process. I understand labors of love, and the fact that a bunch of people care very much about rosters is evident every year. With each iteration of the game, I never start a franchise without the OSFM rosters.

Yep, i also wish the "thank you" posts would be given their own stickied thread so this thread is truly for updates. Sifting through 20, "thank you so much, you make the game so much better!!!!" posts to get to one where ridin gives an update is no fun. Couple that with low effort posts that could go in the subsequent Corrections post after the rosters have been released and we have ourselves 700 posts with 20 of them being actual updates.

The simple and obvious answer is that we like our teams to be as close to perfect as possible. There are 30 teams, so my nit picks are Astros related, but I don't necessarily care about the specifics of the obscure players in other farms. But that means there are 29 other teams with fans just like me.

That's why there are questions like that from people. It's not their fault they ask, that's what the forum is for. Maybe OSFM needs its own sub forum to unclutter everything but there's no reason to get mad at people sharing a concern or two.

This might be a dumb system...but how do you guys do this?

I can't even fathom how much work it is, but I understand HOW you do it...but how do you collaborate? Do you take turns passing back a save and working on that? I don't understand how yo'd be able to work on it at the same time...

I've always wondered this myself. After OSFM is all said and done, I'd love to see an article on OS about the nuts and bolts of how it all comes together.

I feel like the solution is pretty simple here. 2 separate threads. One main thread where only those involved in the roster can post. Then a general discussion thread where all questions/praises/criticisms of the roster can be posted.

This would cut down on questions being asked a lot because half of them can in fact be answered by the updates that get buried in the comments ("When will the rosters be out?" "Do these include x y z"? "Will John Doe's lazy eye be accurately depicted in his player model?")

This roster is such a big piece of content for the game, it'd be like a game developer having an open thread for anyone to ask whatever dumb question they want about the new DLC they are working on.

Separate the 2. Then the creators of the roster won't feel like they're obligated to answer these questions over and over because they don't even need to check that thread in order to provide an update
