questions about setting potential attributes? roster makers PLEASE respond. thank you

I have a custom calculator that I downloaded to use for setting up my attributes for rookies/prospects.

can someone tell me HOW i can go about getting a POTENTIAL rating for players? Is there a formula or something roster makers use?

I am currently using the web site www.thebaseballcube.com for my stats. Is this what to use or is there a more in depth site?

Also, HOW can I figure out RISP ratings?

Thanks for ALL help..I'm trying to get this roster done for the last gen crowd and need some advice to make it the best I can.

And in the dark I hear your screams

I use Baseball America's Prospect Handbook BA Grade & this scale:

80 low medium risk 98 potential
80 high very high extreme 97 potential
    75 low medium 95 potential
75 high very high extreme 94 potential
    70 low medium 92 potential
70 high very high extreme 91 potential
    65 low medium 89 potential
65 high very high extreme 87 potential
    60 low medium 85 potential
60 high very high extreme 83 potential
    55 low medium 81 potential
55 high very high extreme 79 potential
    50 low medium 76 potential
50 high very high extreme 73 potential
    45 low medium 70 potential
45 high very high extreme 67 potential
    40 low medium 64 potential
40 high very high extreme 61 potential

58 potential (prospects in book without a BA Grade)
    55 (prospects not in book)

      thebaseballcube is solid.

Baseball-Reference has the same info, but has more sort-ability options. A little less user friendly though. I use my iPad a lot of the time, the scrolling ads on B-R can really be a killer in terms of loads/crashes.

B-R also has some excel exporting options, which is good for those who track their work through spreadsheets.
