calling all mlb the show gurus!!

forgive me for asking but i'm rather new to the show series.

I originally had mlb the show 16 for my playstation 3. I was making an updated roster. I have about 1,000 players I've EXPORTED from the game into a flashdrive.

I have a few questions: first, I just bought the ps4 to upgrade to the other games and bought mlb the show 17 instead of 18.

My questions are: can I IMPORT my saved flashdrive players and roster into my mlb the show 17 playstation 4?

I have read that mlb the show 18, you cant make a "season" mode is this correct? I'ts mostly what I play.

What are the benefits on why I should get 18 over 17?

and finally if I stay with my mlb the show 17 will the hybrid and OSFM roster work on it?
