For the life of me, I'll never understand how players who have previously been in the game are not included. Like Volquez of the Rangers or Rosenthal on the Nats. It's been common knowledge most of the offseason that these guys were going to be on the MLB rosters. Why are they not on the default rosters?

Showtyme answered this in another thread, it's because they didn't play an inning in the majors last year.

          That makes no sense.

Whether it makes sense or not, that's just the way it is. Just an agreement of the MLBPA.

It is a stupid rule regardless. If they had no MLB service time that is one thing but they have plenty, so there is absolutely no violation of any labor laws in these cases who were either hurt for 18 or something else.

It’s a pain in the *** I can tell you just spent 2 hours getting AL of missing players first you gotta find them then move rosters around with the joke of a system the roster menu is then re name them set audio to zero. Then remember what stupid fake name they were given

I’ll get all the NL in next after a break then someone can work on doing faces for the 60 vets that were missing !

I’ve noticed that former Met TJ Rivera isn’t on the list, and he’s definitely missing.

Seattle Mariners infielder Krisotpher Negron is missing despite playing in 18 games with them last year. Service time should be at 1.132.

Also, Braxton Lee (mentioned above) is in the game, under free agents.

Duane Underwood and Jen-ho Tseng are both missing from the Cubs, but played in the Majors last year and are both still on their 40-man Roster. Probably some others on the Cubs, but I haven't bothered to look.

If a player hasn't played in the MLB in over a year they are no longer considered an active player in the MLBPA by the union and they are not allowed to be licensed by the MLBPA if they are not an active player.
