This is one thing that kind of annoys me about MLB the show over other sports games. Guys like ceccini and rosenthal not only have major league service time, but were in the game last year. There's no reason they shouldn't be in the game. When a guy in football or basketball misses a season they are not removed form Madden or NBA 2k. Case and point, I guarantee leveon bell is on the madden disc roster at release.

You can claim its a memory problem all you want, but if that's the case stop packing the on disc roster with legends instead of real current players. This is MLB '19 not MLB '1932.

I would much rather have players who are active in the league now!! So frustrating because a pitcher like Rosenthal has to be a CAP now.

Yes!!! I cant stand how the Legends take up FA space.

I would much rather have players who are active in the league now!! So frustrating because a pitcher like Rosenthal has to be a CAP now.

Rosenthal didn't play at all last year (Was a Free Agent the entire season) so he was turning generic no matter what.

I know but like the other dude mentioned why does The Show remove players, leave them in the game as a FA.

I’m sure Madden and 2K have guys in FA that haven’t played for a year.

Yeah that's the problem though. There's no reason he should be. Guy has enough service time and was in last years game, so there is no reason to remove him. just my opinion. I remember whent the show's free agent list had three seperate sections on the roster moves screen with hundreds and hundreds of players. Awe, the good old days when SDS actually cared about giving us a roster that reflected real current day players instead of trying to shove legend cards down our throat.

Because Rosenthal didn't play at all last year in the majors he isn't part of the MLBPA. Same goes with Volquez of the Rangers. He was in the Rangers minor league last year recovering from TJ. He spent the entire year on the MiLB DL. Therefore, lost his status. Once they both pitch this year and submit their paperwork they will be part of the player's association again.

Oh I didn't know that. The players got a raw deal with their union then. My brother is a teamster, and he was out of work for almost a year and half with a back injury (none work related) and he still have union representation. But I guess it makes sense in baseball because you are technically only employed during the duration of a given contract. So in essence they are non 1099 independent contractors who just happened to be unionized

Hey guys been following the thread awhile and PLEASE don't rake me over the coals but I have 2 quick questions I hadn't seen answered.

1.) will this when completed roster been able to be used in 18 or just 19?

2.) this one I'm pretty sure of BUT will the name of the roster be posted when finished in this thread or start a new one?

Looks like the Giants will carry 3 catchers on Opening Day. They just acquired Erik Kratz from Milwaukee yesterday.
