I may be a relative nobody here on OS, but I for one wont let this be the last year for any kind of a full minors type roster. Same I'm sure goes for many people, and this effort proves it.

CujoMatty, are you still planning on releasing a roster with all teams A and B potential prospects?

Probably a duplicate I missed. Did they have different positions? I quadruple checked each team when I did them before I moved to the next team but when I did my final check once I was all done I found a few. It was always a guy who either changed between sp/rp/cp or a guy who changed position. For example a guy that was 3b last year but moved to short.

My process was that I went into mlb 18 and took pictures on my phone of every roster. I then went to mlb 19 and compare the pictures from 18 to the roster in 19 that was the same franchise I continued from 18. That’s how I figured out all the players that didn’t transfer and turned generic. I knew I had to have all the SCEA players on their perspective teams in order to make discovering missing players easier so I went through the entire free agent roster and made sure all the players were on the right teams. Because the roster was a couple weeks dated there were quite a few guys that needed to be assigned to teams that weren’t included in the roster I was using so long story short it changed my numbers. So basically without those free agents I could look at a team and see they had 90 man rosters but 4 guys didn’t transfer so I need to make sure I had 86 “real” players and I’d have 4 generic. If I had 88 real and 2 generic I’d know there has to be 2 duplicate players. Like I said though by adding the free agents it changed those numbers so using that last example, I could have 88 real players instead of 86 but instead of it being 2 duplicates it could mean I added 2 free agents and the roster is in fact correct. I really screwed myself by not writing down which free agents I assigned so to check for duplicates all I could really do is look and because pitchers changing roll or players changing positions put them in different sections they got missed. Also the ratings getting changed screwed it up too because if Nick Franklin was a 64 last year and SCEA didn’t change the ratings so much this year, both Nick Franklins would have been in close proximity when looking at roster overview.

And then after about 5 teams and thinking I was on top of it all I discovered the face glitch which screwed up the math even further. Lol

Anyways I probably didn’t need to tell you all that but it may help someone in the future not learn the hard way like I did.

As far as a duplicate I’d just change his name, even position/number and then change his attributes and potential to a D and lastly give him a different preset head and either leave him as a scrub or replace him with someone from the vault. The CRP guys will have players to replace any duplicates as well I’m sure so it won’t be an issue for their roster.

The different ages make sense because I didn’t change any ages for NL(ran out of time) so if nick franklin got added by SCEA he’d be a year older.

I just released a roster with 2600 players so a little better I think?

Doing lineups/rotations and making sure guys are on the right level I’m not going to do.

I've got the re-rating formulas done for MLB players. Just need to sim a bunch of seasons to test correlation.

Instead of working like I should be I'm currently putting all of the 20-80 scouting grades into a spreadsheet. This will allow us to take the correlation numbers from the simming and create accurate and unbiased CV and FV ratings for prospects.

Ahh didn’t noticed this. I may have to start a new base.. that’s alright though because what you did still makes it much easier I won’t have to go to franchise every time loading and re loading lol.

Once we get the vets done which we should get done first then can import the prospects team by team. Willard working hard on vets faces as I speak .

As for lineups and rotations yeah. That takes time and and SDS roster system of doing that is a joke! That will be the very last thing we will do before the offical release. Cuju release was a great idea for others that find errors and issues I think it was a great idea to post a beta type public for work purposes and finding problrms.

Yes. My white whale of CAPS. He’s the one guy I just can’t get right but I think it’s the hair.
I wish his hair style was an option. It really hurts trying to make his likeness. I created. Him with the fro but some like the dreads so you might want to change it but it’s easy to do. Neither option is great but I like the fro better as the dreads are too long and don’t hang over his ears.

Hello, I've been following this thread since for a few weeks and really appreciate what everyone is doing to get a solid full roster out! I am not asking this question in a snobby way or trying to put pressure on everyone who is working hard but was wondering if theres a rough estimate for an ETA (wont hold you to one if you give it) the reason I ask is I wont start my franchise until a roster like this is out and I also add a lot of custom music and sounds to players and ballparks and only want to do that once. Again, I Thank you all for the hard work on this project! You all make MLB the Show playable

The other thing I was thinking is I know you were hesitant in waiting for a new roster from SCEA before starting the project because traditionally they definitely have been slow with updates. I really have a strong suspicion that they will be more on top of it this year and I bet a big roster update will be pretty quick. Way sooner than usual. The reason I say this is that the March to October mode which is their big back of box addition this year, is really reliant on a good accurate roster. Guys are already complaining that the base roster is not working well for enjoyment of MTO and with how hard they have been pushing the mode I can’t see them not getting a good roster out ASAP.
