Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 19

Cycloniac, this roster set is great as is all the other work you've done in other games. The release of your roster along with patch 1.12 makes for an exciting day.

I do have one question out of curiosity... why do some teams have 40 men on their rosters while others only have 35, 31, 24, etc? Would you recommend doing nothing and letting the CPU fill the open slots? Is there a reason you decided to set it up this way maybe to prevent potential errors by the CPU?

Thanks again for all the time and hard work you've done

      Acuna's Kill% at LF: 1.4 percent
League average Kill% at LF: 2.2 percent

      Acuna's Outs Above Average:
      2019: -2
      2018: 4

However, he does have great range and instincts at LF, which suggest he may improve over time. His 97 speed and 84 reaction show that.
Thank you for the quick response and insight! Even with those numbers I don't think he should be as low as he is. But, as I alluded to he has made a huge jump from last year. His held percentage is 74.5% compared to 53.5% from last year. His kill percentage is 2.1% compared to 1.0%. I just think he may deserve at least a little boost. Maybe I'm wrong. Just having a conversation no hard feelings.

He has improved, but the sample size is so small, only 47 opportunites.

It is safer to use his career totals, where the sample is small as well. I use career totals at the OF spot played if the player has fewer than 300 opportunities.

To his credit, Acuna was dreadful last year in LF arm-wise, with a 53.5 hold percentage and 1 percent kill rate. He has improved this year with his arm, but has also struggled a bit as his OAA dropped from +4 to -2.

So, I would say yes, he has improved, but very small sample size

This is intentional. It is better for CPU logic to have some 40 man spots available, if possible.

Some players would be on the 40 man, but are on the DL, so some teams have full 40 spots, others don't.

Hey there! Sorry to bother you but are there specific sliders for these right now? I'm currently playtesting with Armor's sliders and things feel... off...

I'm 0 outs in the first inning right now (I know, terrible sample size). but I've given up two bombs, had two infield errors, an outfield error, and can't feel to hit the broad side of a barn as a pitcher. Is this something obvious I'm missing with the sliders or is this just a nightmare inning?

                Cheers

I appreciate the effort anyone does when making a roster like this but what I find confusing is the idea of having sliders for certain attributes such as contact and power. Shouldn't the ratings made for the pitchers and hitters be enough to have realistic statistics where you wouldn't have to increase or decrease anything?
