last set completed was for show 2018. I Used OOTP 21 which provides nearly all stats for player ratings. I feel this works better for classic seasons rather than all-time rosters. Don't see any reason to switch, just my preference. Have had no issues while using OOTP 21.

I began using OOTP ratings converted to MLB The Show ratings and still use many of their Pitchers ratings BUT eventually moved to JTommy67's RBU for the vast majority of my ratings these days.

thanks for the reply. just curious as to the allegiance everyone has for the jtommy rbu.i believe he uses an excel based database for his spreadsheet driven program. OOTP also uses excel spreadsheets and is sold as a statistically accurate baseball simulation. What exactly makes the jtommy rbu more accurate than an actual stats based simulation that can rate players on a scale of 1-100? am i missing something? Since i am elderly, i depend on the attributes accuracy to compensate for my lack of skill ( button mashing ).i don't play the show as often since i switched to xbox about 4 years ago.

Hello, don cropper. I want to say i have followed you and many others in this forum for all my MLBTS needs. I have been using the RBU program for years. I even finally created an account so i could message you personally in hopes you can help me. I read in this quote that you have a calculator that you use to get the numbers for movement and control for pitchers, to work in coordination with the RBU program…..if i may ask, is there a way you help me get that calculator for my personal classic roster creations? Thank you so much.

It allows you to create any past season full roster with minors and displays all ratings in spreadsheet format. It also has other functions as well.

It does provide Pitcher's repertoire of pitches but we use OOTP for that and there is also a simple calculator for rating individual pitch movements & control which I created. Velocity of each pitch can be gotten from OOTP as well.

                      Hope this helps,
                      Don

                        OsFan4Life,

Just PM me your email address and I will send you that spreadsheet. It is a simple spreadsheet in that you can either enter a player's stats to get the ratings or use OOTP ratings to convert them to MLBTS ratings for movement & control.

Sorry for the delayed response, I thought I had responded earlier today but don't see where I completed it ..............

Hey don, thank you so very much for the response and sorry for my delay. I work graveyard and am now awake to read it.

Due to my literally new account it wont let me PM you or even write on your chalkboard. So I’m not sure how to do this unless i put my email on the forum and to be honest, I’m kind of hesitant on that. But if you feel its the safer bet, i will do it with your next reply.

Also, while i have you, i wanted to ask you, when you use the RBU formula, do do 33% weight for each year when doing your rosters? I’m curious cause that’s how i thought SDS does their model, yet it feels like in a lot of areas the number is too low.

Also, I got the OOTP 23 version and tried to understand the correlation between how it get as their stats and to adjust for the show….and i have no idea how they do it, nor if I’m even seeing all the players ratings/information. I saw a scale between 1-250 ratings and my head exploded trying to understand it all.

                          Thank you again for everything

Just email me at --- (eliminate the *^* signs) s*^*t*^*e*^*c*^*r*^*o*^*p*^*p*^*e*^*r*^*@*^*a*^*o* ^*l*^*.*^*c*^*o*^*m

With OOTP I think I use a scale of 1-100 and when viewing an entire teams roster it has ratings for each player when you click on that individual player - the Pitchers typically have a speed range which I use the highest value to set their fastball speed in MLBTS and it automatically adjusts speeds for the other type pitches based off of that fastball speed.

OOTP shows a Stuff, Control, & Movement rating for each Pitcher and I use the higher value for it as well, and just plug those ratings into that spreadsheet I will send you and it converts them to relative MLBTS ratings for each Pitch Type ..........

Not sure what you mean by SDS's 33% by year stuff but I don't do it whatever it is. BUT I do increase each Pitchers K's & Walk ratings by 10% more than the RBU rating gives.

I haven't been on OOTP in a while so I can't detail how you get to the Teams Individual Players ratings view but if you are unable to find it then we can eventually connect over the phone to get you to it.
