I don't know how the hell you did it, in fact, this almost feels like you are some anonymous software engineer from SDS that is doing us all a huge favor...With your RBU, it is now possible to not only re-rate modern day players realistically, but the ability to REALLY create teams from certain era's of baseball history is now completely possible....'68 Tiger's vs the '27 Yankees?...etc....

And the beauty is that because you have done it all in a formulated excel format, you can tweak and adjust the formula's very easily based on context of the SDS engine in future versions of the game!

    Just a really fantastic job!
I don't know where you live, but I am the Front of House sound engineer for The Cult. The next time we are in your neck of the woods, reach out to me and I will get you backstage passes and you can watch the show from my mix position out front .
    You rock.

Steve --- You have quickly come to the realization several of us have for the past several years regarding JTommy67's masterpiece ....... there are a handful of us that built, and continue to build today, our rosters "Solely" based off of JTommy67's RBU along with a little help from Out of The Park's Pitcher Pitch repertoire ratings ......... It appears you are interested in The Classic Teams as many of us are ....... in fact your reference to the '68 Tigers & '27 Yankees above are already there based off of JTommy67's RBU as are many many more Classic Teams .... I was counting just last evening how many Teams I have completed and have ready to play and the total is 101 Completed teams spread across several of my Rosters with the oldest being the '27 Yankees and the youngest being the '98 Yankees ----- take a look at the 1st page of this thread and you will discover a plethora of available teams to Enjoy NOW --- https://forums.operationsports.com/f...-mlb-show.html --- then you can visit this thread to see which of those many available were built using JTommy67's Magnificent RBU ---

      Don my man,
I am well aware of the "Historical teams and specialty rosters" thread!
I HAVE been playing with the historical teams that you have been making since about 2015 or so...I can't remember the last time I played a game with "default" rosters.
I think that I may have been the one that asked you to do a '68 tigers a few years ago in fact!

My thing has been trying to get some consistency in player models, and when one comes along that looks "closer" to real life, being able to import that player model, and asses cohesive ratings to him to fit competitively in with the rest of the roster.

Personally, I think that SDS did a pretty fine job with the models for the "legend" players in this years game. I have wanted to be able to re-rate those players so that I can have the SDS "legends" in my roster (love the baseball card photos) and be able to use them in a Franchise. Now I can.

I have been using Biebig's 2019 All Star Roster as my "base", and have replaced the corresponding SDS "legend" players in the game into his roster, then tweaking equipment, etc. I think that he has done a very fine job with the vast amount of Historical player models that all "look" like they belong together.

I have used your ratings for years by copying one at a time over from your rosters...Nice to know that I can work on stuff myself now!

If you ever need any help on Tiger's stuff let me know.
I would be glad to help!
      Kudos Don!

        Hey Steve,
Glad to hear you've been around awhile ! Yep, I first started using JTommy67's RBU in 2015. Prior to that I was busy building Classic Rosters for MVP 2005 from around 2003 to 2014 or so ....... One of my cohorts (AlexTony) on our Total Classics Team was a huge Tigers fan as well and he has his mark over all my Tiger teams as well as many others ---- so I do appreciate your offer to help, as I am confident you could, but with AlexTony I feel I have those covered fairly well. The only imminent Tigers team I have on the near to do list are those '70s Tigers when The Bird hit the Show ('76 I think is the season)!
Well just keep swingin' dat ole Bat ole Boy ! Isn't it great to re-live those wonder years of Baseball ?
        Don

If it weren't for the historical rosters, I wouldn't play this game hardly at all. I love baseball, but I'm 47 and I'm an old school / classics guy. So all I can say is "thank you" for what you guys do. Phenomenal job!

Hey JTommy, I just noticed your spreadsheet for career ratings. Very interesting values and a good yardstick for my all-time rosters. Great stuff as I have implemented your RBU in pretty much all my classic rosters.

Amen, MK. I'm 53 and classic rosters are the only way to go. I hope to bring some of mine over to MLB 19 in the near future.

                  Hi doncropper,

Is there still a ratings calulator for building a roster? All the links I have seen no longer work.

Shoot me a PM with your email address and I will send it to you. And let me know if you want the player ratings calculator; the seasons rating calculator or the career ratings calculator ?

It is too large to send via email BUT I have loaded them to my Dropbox account THUS anyone needing it just send me a PM with your email address and I will authorize you to access it. Of course, this is JTommy67's masterpiece and I am only making it available for those that can't get it from his upload. This is for his RBU V20.1.

                          Don,

How many real players are contained in say a 2001 roster file ?
I notice from OOTP 2008, the minor league rosters are very sparse.
If I was to do a 2001, 70-Man file with real guys, is it possible to get all those

                          Player names from RBU?

Likely not because the Version I use (which I think is V1.5) teams have any where from like 60-74 or so --- but you can always go to the next years (i.e. 2002 in your example) and add those that weren't in the 2001 list.

The individual season files have separate tabs for each team which includes the minors if you select that option during creation. However, I have created them already with RBU V1 and also have them loaded to my Dropbox account which I can share with you as well if you care to have that versions files instead of the latest ones. That could save you a lot of time since you won't have to create each individual season. I have 1950-1999 if that works for you. Just let me know.
