best way to due rosters

im wanting to to do a classic roster year, but like suggestions on how to do it?

dont really have any advice that will fit into a single post, just words of encouragement. Its a labour of love to do a roster like this, dont be discouraged if it takes a long time to complete. And it will. But when you're done, you'll have a major accomplishment. Good luck and happy baseball!

Good point. Yes, I try not to think about the roster when I am creating it. I treat it like a big, on-going work project. Each day, put in the work you can, and leave its completion in the hands of The Almighty.

If you are thinking about a Classic Roster - I would suggest you start with JTommy67's Roster Building Utility (RBU). It combined with Pitchers Pitch repertoire info from Out of the Park works extremely well.

i just put up my first real roster for this year. its 1981. its a raw, but is a start. still needs edits.

I was the 2nd download of it. It really looks well done. Only thing I saw which you may wish to look into is a couple-few Joe Randoms on the MLB Level team BUT You have plenty players in the minors to correct that. Astros was one I can remember and think it was a RP.
Otherwise Exceptional Job & one I will enjoy alot !

theere are ramdoms in the majors, but that the way the game setup the roster, as i finshed each team. i'd put them on team, as 40 man and some have more than 40 players used, so the game would shift players to the minors. and a few teams would end up ramdoms in the majors when it fixed the rosters. im not sure how ill fix that.

You can individually "Assign a Player to MLB, AAA, AA, A" - so assign Joe Random to AAA - then assign one of your Creations to the MLB Level. Don't use the Set Auto Lineup option as that is what caused your situation to begin with. For each Team you can Manually Set Lineups & Pitching Rotations.

Played a couple games last night and Enjoyed Your Creation !

that what i do aggin them to wher i want them, but get shifted around. i i knew how make that happen i would, but its forces itself to shift them when go to save.

Likely when you go to Save a Roster that is not setup correctly/fully (meaning ALL positions & rotations & Lineups are set) then the game auto changes things so all is at least filled. Thus, to keep from having the game AUTO fill non filled things for you make sure that before you Save a Roster that everything is filled the way you want it filled. Otherwise the Game will make certain that it's minimum requirements a satisfied by doing it for you. Hope this makes sense.

You can also set just 25-Man, and not 40-man to start. Then, during season, add correct 40-Man. This will keep Lineups and Rotation set to your liking. Everything in profile set to manual.
