    Jersey number cure:

OK guys it's been a long time coming but this works for me:
Go to CPU ROSTER CONTROL (Franchise )
Send player with wrong number to single A.
Go to ROSTER and change first name to a different name than audio.
Could be a nickname or middle name as long as it's different than audio name but only works if it's one name like Robby for Frank Robinson.
Nickname for Tony Lazzeri was three names and didn't work so changed it to Anthony and got number 6.
Make sure you save it every step of the way.
Check for duplicates change duplicate to 91.
    Hope this works for you

Eddie Mathews 41 has been difficult I first changed his first name to Edward and didn't work then used his nickname "Captain" and got 41...
If it doesn't work the first time make up a name...Don't change their audio first name.
    Good luck guys

Could you try it for 2 guys for me? Todd Helton and Mariano Rivera. I’ve never been able to get them their right numbers on the Yankees and Rockies.

        1) ROSTER CONTROL

        2) Put player with wrong number on class A

        3)SAVE

        4) ROSTER EDIT...change first name (try nickname middle name)

        5) SAVE

        6) ROSTER CONTROL ( put player back in the major league ) only if he has correct number if not change first name again.

        7) when he has correct number put him back in the lineup.

        8) SAVE

        9) Be sure to change any competing number in class A

        It works.
        I fixed numbers on:
        Eddie Mathews...Hank Aaron...Yogi Berra...
        Whitey Kurowski...Johnny Mize...Frank Robinson...Tony Lazzeri...Jackie Jensen...Todd Hilton...and others...

Try Sandman as a nickname for Mariano Rivera... Let me know.

OK I tried Hiltons nickname it didn't work so i used his middle name Lynn and he has 17 on his jersey.
Went to Class A changed a pitcher from 17 to 91 then went to Roster control put Todd Hilton on class A then saved him then to ROSTER and changed his first name to Lynn (his middle name) got a NOTICE No matching first name audio was found, would you like to clear your first name audio?

Go back to ROSTER CONTROL and put him back in the major league and on the lineup then save. He has number 17.

Do the numbers stick once the playoffs start? I put players with wrong numbers in A, change to correct number then put back on MLB roster and correct number sticks as long as you do not edit anything on that player. However once playoffs start the numbers no longer stick.
Example: Vannot get Chris chambliss tonwesr 10. Put him down to A and change number to 10. Put back on mlb roster and 10 stocks until playoffs

Awesome. I’ll try to repeat hat step by step. Thanks!

Did you happen to try Mariano Rivera as well? I feel like he might be more difficult as his number is shared with Jackie Robinson who’s 42 is retired league wide.

Time will tell. Just started new franchisse but if they change I'll attempt to put them back.
Until then I'm enjoying the the heck out of seeing my players with the correct numbers on their jerseys.
                  Have fun.

                    Re: Jersey number cure:

I tried it and they revert back once playoffs start and once playoffs start you lose CPU roster control option. Kind of ruins it for me. Only thing you can do is take playoff teams and just use them in playoff mode after your season is finished. I just wish they'd give you the option if turning off retired numbers like in the NHL series. It just ruins some great classic rosters. I can deal with say a reliever with the wrong number but when multiple Yankees have the wrong numbers...

No because the CPU roster control is no longer available once the playoffs start. Sim a franchise and you'll see what I mean
