Re: IBU Fictional Roster - MLB 20 3,000 Created Player Roster
I don't think the loss of legends is that big of a deal. At least from my standpoint, maybe it's me but I didn't really see the point and would have preferred not using them.
As for the other question. . Why not release the roster without players assigned as soon as it's ready (good for those who would want to do their own fantasy drafts)...
And then a day or two later once it's completed, release a second version of the roster with players on their assigned teams ?
Best of both worlds. Like the game itself, the more options, the better.Comment

That could definitely work out.
The only issue being is that right now the teams are super imbalanced just because I’ve been importing and editing players one by one without really caring too much about individual teams and ratings.
So regardless, I have a lot of player movement to do.
I don’t think it will affect anyone’s fantasy draft if I move around the players post draft. If anything it will make the base roster more functional.Comment

Re: IBU Fictional Roster - MLB 20 3,000 Created Player Roster
This roster will include 52 Two-way players.
In order to mark these players as two-way players on the roster, I had to simulate games in franchise mode.
This means that unlike all other players on this roster, the two way players will have some career stats...
I’ve done my best to limit the numbers to the bare minimum, but it will still make the stat line look a little awkward with 2020 showing up twice. It may look weird but i think it’s best with the amount of two-way player I made that they should all be marked. All players service times will go back to 0.000, however.
These two way players range drastically in skill, age, and secondary positions. Should definitely make the roster unique.
Stay tuned.Comment

Re: IBU Fictional Roster - MLB 20 3,000 Created Player Roster
I'm happy to announce that the IBU Inaugural season Fantasy Draft will be held next Sunday night. I know most have given up on this project, and/or are more invested with Bacon's roster, but I am still planning on going through with this series now that the roster is nearing completion.
Its been an uphill battle, but after nearly 2 months of endless work I am close to completing this fictional roster. Tune in this weekend to see the debut of the roster, and see what teams these players will be suiting up for this coming season!.
I will make another announcement once the roster is uploaded to the vault next week!. Stay tuned!Comment

Re: IBU Fictional Roster - MLB 20 3,000 Created Player Roster
I'm sure many people who want their rebranded league to have a complete fresh start with no prior stats will enjoy this. I know that was the big appeal to me and I may in fact still give it a shot after for a second franchise once it's out.
I'm also glad to hear you seemingly gave up on needing 3,000 players for release. I don't think it's as important to have complete 90 man rosters for every franchise as it is to just have it released. Especially considering many of those "filler" players are never going to make it to the MLB anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't even think Bacon's roster is 3,000 players deep.Comment

Re: IBU Fictional Roster - MLB 20 3,000 Created Player Roster
I’m pretty sure there is a two way player in the player vault. Only problem is I would have to import and remake 40+ players I’ve already created since a good portion of them I made in ‘19.Comment

Re: IBU Fictional Roster - MLB 20 Created Player Roster Project
Although today is finally “draft day”, I am once again at a crossroad as to what to do with the roster.
Even with the quarantine being in effect in my state since MLB 20 released, there just has not been enough hours in the day for me to edit enough names, facial details, equipment and ratings on enough players. Ever since finishing my 30 teams I’ve been able to push out roughly 70-90 players a day for this roster, but it seems I’m still quite a bit short of my original goal of 3k which is essentially every potential roster spot possible, organization and FA.
Although I wanted to provide a roster this deep, I had to realize that I’m only doing this roster to accommodate my 30 relocated teams, and only so many guys can suit up with my custom teams at a time.. which makes spending a bunch of time on the minor league players a bit too tedious.
My player count as of this morning is about 2,250. Enough for each franchise to draft 75 players. My plan is to import blank pitcher/position player slots over all the remaining players I haven’t edited. Each team will most likely end up with 25 players in MLB, AAA & AA. Class A and FA pool will be all open/blank slots.
Just because I am downsizing the roster size a little bit doesn’t mean I don’t have big plans for it. Like Ive stated, tonight’s draft will shape the way the series plays out. The outcome being the roster that will be uploaded this week. Not all 30 teams will draft evenly, nor will they draft with the same strategy. But all of them will draft to win! See who goes first overall!! 8:30PM EST!!Comment

Re: IBU Fictional Roster - MLB 20 Created Player Roster Project
Sorry if this comes off rude but Im confused what is supposed to be . This is basically an exact copy of bacons roster?? Just different names and such? There seems to be a lot of effort in this, which I can respect, but I don’t see much of a need to jump ship from my bacon ‘chise and try and get use to a whole new fictional roster set...Comment

And .. no one is asking you to jump ship from your bacon franchise ... There's nothing wrong with more variety out there though.
One big difference with Crimsons is the players will have no prior career stats. So for anyone who wants to create a completely rebranded "fresh start" type league with no history... These rosters would be a better choice.Comment
