I believe I explained the steps in details in an earlier post in this thread. This only happens because the game fills in the 40 man rosters when you load them into franchise.
it doesnt work if they are already on waivers from the start. they have a blue W next to their name.

Not really sure what you are saying.

I started in spring training. The handful of players that had to go on waivers (there actually should have been none, but apparently i missed the contract/MLB service time on 5-6 guys) were sent down to AAA. After you sim/play a however many days it takes for them to clear waivers, they will be moved to the minors.

Thank you. It was a ton of work, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it now.

There is some work up front, which includes creating the uniforms and removing the handful of players from the 40 man rosters for each team in year one, since the game fills it in when you import it into franchise.

A whole lot of other things i did makes everything else during the off-season really easy though. When it comes to contract extension time, after the All star break, it is strictly college players you need to sign. 90% of real life MLB players were signed to cheap 10 year contracts, so after the season there isn't a lot of players to resign at all. I recently finished one season and the off-season stuff, even controlling every team, was a piece of cake.

Yep, with a tool called "Save Wizard" he was able to download everything correctly. Save Wizard gives the user the capability of changing the User ID to his own thus able to share things like Franchises and such. It cost $49 but seems it might be worth it.

That's cool and all, but making the uniforms was my favorite part of this entire thing. I liked it so much, I rebranded a few teams after my first season to change up the uniforms.

It can be confusing at first, but it's really quite simple. And once you get it, you have plenty of possibilities and it's pretty quick and easy.

I downloaded this roster today. I can see there with a lot of effort with names and bio stats. But I feel like I’m playing with randomly generated fakes most of the time rather than college kids. Ive noticed a lot of facial hair and basic head presets.

Still a great roster for anyone who’s made college teams for franchise tho!

This would all be correct. 100% of the focus went into names, weight, height, throwing/batting hands. The ratings and positions were also a great deal of work, but I know there is going to be some that are off. For the teams I knew little about, all I had to go off of was past stats to try to and come up with the numbers. For younger players, that haven't played much yet, I had next to nothing to go off of. For positions, nearly every school only list IF or OF. So I went in and looked up a few games to try to get an idea of where they actually played.

Very little effort was put into actual looks, besides changing of skin color. That was just simply too much work for one person to do. Not to mention, I'm not very good at this. Also, no changes were made to home towns (which annoys me a little bit when I'm playing).

The good news is that I now have a base set created, so next year I won't have to spend nearly as much time creating, and I can work on some of the finer details with editing. Also hoping that uniform sharing comes into play next year as well. I really enjoy playing with these rosters, but next year's should be top of the line.

Do you know a work around to the game adjusting the players’ numbers? For LSU, Digiacomo is 12 instead of 7, Beloso is 41 instead of 24 and Bianco is 9 instead of 5. Thanks!

Hmm. I play as LSU and I don't have that issue. Is your 40 man roster set up with only LSU players? The only thing I can see is you have other players on the roster that are those same numbers that shouldn't be there.

I really wish they would give you an option to turn retired numbers off!! So frustrating.

Retired numbers must be the reason. Bagwell was 5, Biggio was 7, Jimmy Wynn was 24.
