Understood. Maybe best to remain on MLB 20 for a while for some of us, until 1,000s' of CAPS are re-created. Any idea on how long that would take ?Sent from my SM-J327T1 using Operation Sports mobile app

Re: Wanting to Try and Create a Roster for MLB 21:The Show.
Like I have been saying the fact that franchise has no carry over more then likely means rosters won't either and with X box on the scene they won't just make that a PS feature and re-code it for something and not the other.
If creating faces is the exact same way. then you can take a video with your phone and start from scratch that way editing the attributes and face co=ordinates. this however takes 30 to 40 mins PER PLAYER TO DO! it's how I do it in franchise seeing we can't import players in there if I forget a player I take a video and edit him that way.
Next gen rosters scare me though it usually means they start locking a lot of editing stuff this year we finally got to do service time who knows if we can again this year and who knows if it is re-built they might have locked out a lot of editing out of things. I hope I am wrong but we have been burned by madden by this. on the PS2 days of madden you could create your own faces and even create non rookies. now it's 'choose from generic default faces of about 10 players and they have to be a rookie.
Also without the ability of exporting rosters guess what??? we can't export vets that missed 2020 and won't be in the game... meaning we gotta wait for a SDS roster update for example Gerardo Parra won't be in the game for 2021. he probably will be in the nats bench. In the past with a carry over save he would turn into a fake player but it was a simple export the player with his career stats and player card and ID. then edit his face and BOOM he is in your roster... we are now back to PS3 days and at SDS mercy of roster updates of Vet players if this is the case.
I am telling you now their won't be a mlb 21 roster that is accurate looking till the season is over in October and not one that will look as good as some of the MLB 20 stuff that's out there now. its months and months of work, the OSFN doesn't have the team they had back in with knight on ps3 days.Comment

Re: Wanting to Try and Create a Roster for MLB 21:The Show.
When the game comes out I'll also be looking to make a roster of players from that same time period. However, my ideal roster would be a Hybrid 1980-present roster with mainly well known players but some lesser known guys in there as well. (John Mabry on the Cardinals for example).Comment

Re: Wanting to Try and Create a Roster for MLB 21:The Show.
RBU ratings need zero tweaking. I really like using his tool because it totally eliminates any "bias" being involved and is dominantly based on a specific season's performance although he does allow for some personal customization in his earlier versions of his RBU but not sure if still present in his most recent versions (I use an earlier version of the RBU and still use the same today to maintain consistency across all my rosters so they are 100% interchangeable).
I haven't dived deeply into checking PJSnell's specific ratings but from an overview perspective, they appear fine to me. I do enjoy playing with his rosters as they seem to play out very realistically for me --- although, I solely play/watch in cpu vs cpu mode.
With '21 not having carryover saves, I may make one more roster with these and play for the foreseeable future on this version. I'm glad to be playing this game again. It's been missed.Comment

Re: Wanting to Try and Create a Roster for MLB 21:The Show.
Thanks for providing this for me. In a project I started back on MLB 10: The Show (wow, been longer than I thought) and never finished, I'm putting together a 90-Man All-Time roster using this tool for a Franchise I'm planning on playing. I have to agree, it's taking the shine off of some players who've been hyped as "mythical" by MLB standards. Some of the ratings (I'm using career numbers rather an individual) I don't necessarily agree with, but I'm thinking my bias towards people I watched when I was a kid is mostly nostalgia overtaking me. Or they just had some years where their skill deteriorated, but I don't feel like it's fair to ignore those years. So far, there have been no 99's, which is great.

Re: Wanting to Try and Create a Roster for MLB 21:The Show.
I've already gotten all the players I need and have filled the free agent pools, too. I had to make a few CAPs of my own as well for players I wasn't able to find on others' rosters or ones I accidentally replaced. Plus, I modified a lot of appearances. While I didn't base everything on WAR, I think the stat did help me find guys I hadn't head of or wouldn't have included. But,this is the first year after restarting this project every year that I think I'll actually get to finish it. I've got 3 teams (Orioles, Red Sox, and Yankees) fully rated and will push on through until I get every free agent ranked as well. This is like my Field of Dreams save, I guess.
Thinking about doing a favorite teams (1975-2020) set next, but I seem to never get past the planning stages on that one. Plus, everyone will be working on 2021 before long, I'm guessing.Comment
